Tommaso Montagnani, bass. Born on September 27th, 1976, he started playing electric bass at 14, at first as a self-taught musician and subsequently under the guidance of Riccardo "Foggy" Biliotti. Later on he undertook the study of double bass at the "Franci" Conservatory in Siena. As a jazz musician, he has fulfilled his training with Lello Pareti, Ferruccio Spinetti, Stefano Battaglia, Francesco Petreni and Marcos Siqueira. He took part in the 1999 and 2000 editions of the Porretta Soul Festival, and in 2000 played at the Torrita Blues Festival. Moreover, he has performed for many years with the UA-UA cover band (www.uaua.cjb.net), featured in the Tuscan live concert network, played as a session man with the KENNY group (www.kenny-band.it) and contributed to various live events organized by Florentine musicians. He has recorded with soul singer Angela Tancredi, a.k.a. as Ms. Blue, as a member of her group, along with Rob Lopez, Luca Marianini and Alessandro Cristofori, Giulio Stracciati, with whom he was featured in the 2000 edition of the Jazz Cocktail festival in Poggibonsi, Siena. Furthermore, he is a member of the Blue Train Club house band of Poggibonsi, where he is in charge of co-ordinating every Thursday night's jam session and accompanying guest soloists such as clarinetist Nico Gori. He recently composed and performed the soundtrack of the last movie by director Dimitri Chimenti, formerly featured in the "Off" exhibition included in the Venice Cinema Festival. He live in Paris (France).
