We begin the day at 8 am.  Dad is excited because he has asked mom the night before to marry him again.  He told her he was sorry that he didn't do it sooner.  When mom awakens she has no strength, yet she graciously arises.  She knows she is dying, she is tired, and ready to go.  We were told by Hospice that she could die the next day, that night, or in a few hours.  At 11 am the people from The Marriage Lisence place come to the house with the marriage papers for both mom and dad to sign.  At 12 pm the Hospice team arrives with a Chaplain.  The Hospice nurse has also brought mom a wedding bouquet and a wedding cake.  She was tired, yet happy, excited, and glowing all at the same time.  Even though death was knocking at the door it couldn't diminish the all the love in the room.  As the Chaplain proceeded to begin the ceremony he asked if they had any rings.  Rings?  I hadn't even thought about rings.  Yet I knew the perfect place to look, dad's dresser drawers.  To my surprise, among all the clutter and junk,  as I opened the drawer  I saw 2 rings.  One was a mans and one was a womans, almost like real wedding rings.  They both looked kind of old but you could still see the engraved hearts all around them.  Both rings fit them both on their pinkies.  To this day I have no ideal where they came from.  It was almost like they had been there forever, just waiting for that special day, that one moment in time.  At 12:45 pm the Chaplain lit a uniity candle for them and began the ceremony.  Dad was so excited he said "I Do" three times.  As mom sat in her chair, it appeared as if she was asleep, yet I knew she could hear everything that was going on.  She sat straight up in her chair and said "I Do" just as plain as day.  They kissed and for the first time in my life I saw peace, joy, and happiness in my Mother's eyes.  It was a beautiful sight and one that I will always remember and treasure in my heart, forever.
To each of them it meant I Love You, I've Always Loved You, and
I will Always Love You.
With this ring, I thee wed...
