1/3 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1 1/2 lb green cabbage, cored and thinly sliced (6 cups)
1 carrot, shredded
1/4 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
Whisk together mayonnaise and sour cream in a large bowl until smooth,
then whisk in vinegar, salt, and pepper.
Add remaining ingredients and toss well. Let stand, uncovered, at room temperature,
tossing occasionally, until wilted, about 30 minutes.
Makes about 5 cups.
