SRI GURUBHYO NAMAHA SRI SANDEEPANI GURUKULA TRUSTRegd. Off: Guruji Sri Muralidhara Swamigal Mission, 24, Nethaji Nagar, Jafferkhanpet, Madras-600095. INDIA.All religions in the world, except Hinduism, can be said to have a founder and a time or period in which they were established. This is the reason, Hinduism is called "Sanatana matham" - the oldest religion. The name "Hinduism" was coined by foreigners to indentify this religion in somewhat recent times only. Preiously the need to give a name was not felt as this was the only religion practised all over the civilized world. An apt name, if at all required to describe this great religion, would be "Vaide eka matham" - religion based on the vedas. Jagadguru Sri Adi Sankaran, who rescued our religion from its nihilistic philosophies, has said in his "Sopana Panchakam" - "Vedo Nithyam ADheeyatham". The great tamil poetess Avvai has also stated in her "Aathi Choodi" - "ODhamal Oru NaaLum Irukka VeNDam". The meaning of both is teh same. The vedas have to be recited every day. The vedas form the spiritual foundation on which our quest for Supreme God is based and hence we need to protect it. All mahatmas have worshipped their Deities as an embodimest of the vedas only. The vedas are the very manifestation of God and Dharma. Everlasting peace and happiness - worldly and eternal - can only be attained by fosterin the spread of the vedas throughout the world. Therefore, it behooves us to nurture the roots of this tree (namely, the vedas) with the water of our devotion. The sheer magnitude of this task prevents a single man or a small group of people from embarking on this mission. Hence, as ordained by Guruji Sri Muralidhara Swamigal and with the blessings of Lord Krishna and Acharyas of Sri Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam, we appeal to all like-minded people to join hands to make a collective effort to give an impetus to the growth of vedas and vedic scholars. It is proposed to commence the activities of Sri Sandeepani Gurukulam on Vaikasi anusham - 12th June 1995 - the 101st Jayanthi of Sri Mahaperiaval Chandrasekharendra Saraswathi Swamigal, whose life was dedicated to the preservation of the vedas. We, the trustees of Sri Sandeepani Gurukula Trust appeal to you to munificently contribute to this noble cause and make this venture a hugely successful one. We also invite your suggestions and request you to enroll vidyarthis in the Gurukulam which will help the Trust in fulfilling its goal. May vedamatha shower her chocest blessings on all of us. Sri Sandeepani Gurukula Trust. Dated: 1995
