Alone I sit starring at the water,
The sun slowly sets on the distant horizon.
My eyes drift from the water to the sun,
Thinking back to times when I held her in my arms.
The sky darkens as the sun vanishes.
I look to the sky and lay back on the dock,
My eyes travel over the early night stars.
As I gaze into the endless void I can see her eyes,
The beauty within and the depth of her love.
I close my eyes to think of her,
In the distance I can hear her heart beat.
A smile runs across my face as I see her face.
Soon I know the day shall come.
But now still alone I sit,
On this dock of pain over a river of tears.
Eyes still closed I reach out my hand,
Hoping her Hand will be there to help me up.
Surrounded in darkness I lay,
My hand drops to the dock as my eyes open.
I look in awe at the stars in the velvet void,
These stars that I see are those in her eyes.
I sit up and look again into the darkness,
Alone....
