A NEW SIKH GURDWARA INAUGURATED IN INDIANAPOLIS
The dedication of the new Gurdwara at Indianapolis took place on February
21, 1999. Over 300 worshippers from throughout Indiana and from the States
of Illinois and Ohio attended the event. Giani Pritam Singh of Thailand and
other religious leaders from Chicago including Jathedar Daljeet Singh performed
the service.
The honored guest for the dedication worship Dr. Amarjeet Singh Marwah, a
distinguished educator and civic leader in California reminded the congregation
to dedicate our efforts to educating the younger generation about the history
and traditions of Sikh faith. He strongly urged "Service" and not
"Politics" should guide our spirit, and our places of worship should
exemplify peace and inspiration, respect and dignity, and equality and friendliness
towards all who serve and join us at this house of worship.
The Sikh Satsang of Indianapolis manages the Gurdwara. The current president
is Charanjeet Singh Ahluwalia. The Gurdwara is located at 10920 Southeastern
Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. Telephone (317) 862-SIKH.
