My best friend    As I mentioned before, my name is Sigrid. I live in Oldenburg and am studying at

                                   the university here german language and history. I am preparing now to take my intermediate examinations

                                    in the beginning of next year. After this examination, I am planning on going to Canada sometime in fall  

                                     for a year. Why Canada? Canada is a really beautiful country and the people I know

                                there until now are very, very friendly. Also, I have heard only good things from other previous exchange

                                     students who have studied in Canada.

                                  Before starting my studies, I did practicum to learn how to sell/ run a book store. I am working now in a book

                               store called Thalia in Oldenburg. It´s a lot of fun I´m getting more experiences in my job. In my spare time I

                              really like listening to good music like the Sons and Live. I like most of the Chartsongs, but if I had to pick a

                                favourite style it would be independent. I´m reading a lot and it´s not just because of my job. I can´t list all

                              my favourite authors here because there are too many. But to list a few: Hesse, Irving,  Rilke, Shakespeare,

                                 Pascal Mercier, Wilde, Dostojewski, Tolstoi, Goethe... You see, there are a lot!

                              Besides reading I enjoy riding horses. Riding really is hard work, although nobody believes that. Most people

                           think you only sit on the horse and the horse does all the work. I would like these people to sit on a horse

                                  themselves once and ride a little faster than a walk. They will see what I mean!

                              I also like dancing a lot, but at the moment I don´t have a dance- partner and  - to be honest - I do not have

                                 much time these days to go dancing. Studies, work and the preparations for going to Canada all take up a lot

of my time.

                               Because this is my first homepage I´m not sure what to tell here. I will give a relatively new picture of me, made

                              on a festival on the 11th of  August 2001. I´m the one with the dark hair! J The other ones are my elder brother
