The cameraman slowly pushes the door open. All the lights in the locker room are off. There is a couch in the back part of the room, positioned in front of a television screen. There is a video playing on the screen. An unseen figure from the general direction of the couch speaks to the cameraman
Figure: Come in, or get out….either way close the door behind you.
The cameraman comes in further to the locker room and quickly closes the door behind him. He approaches the coach area slowly. The figure speaks in amusement.
Figure: You have no reason to fear me, stop creeping like you are stalking me or something. Find a good shooting spot and lets get on with this. I want to watch this video.
The figure stands up and can be recognized clearly as Ariel ‘Sickle’ James himself. He walks over to the DVD player and puts in a DVD entitled Purgatory Match. He then sits back down on the couch and presses a button on the remote to get the DVD to start playing.
Webster defines Purgatory in two different ways. The first definition is an intermediate state after death for expiatory purification; specifically: a place or state of punishment wherein according to Roman Catholic doctrine the souls of those who die in God's grace may make satisfaction for past sins and so become fit for heaven. The second definition is a bit more simplified. Webster’s second definition of Purgatory is a place or state of temporary suffering or misery.
The voice stops and Warm Winter by Kid Rock starts to play in the background instead with a new voice over it describing the match as it shows it on the screen.
A dome, One Hundred Feet Wide, and Fifty feet tall. The dome itself will be made of iron, and wrapped in well-built barbwire. Suspended in the center of this giant dome will be long chains. A selected number of these chains will be heated such to the point that they may burn the flesh off of any who touch it. The majority of the base of this giant dome will be filled with three feet of wet cement. There are Four Stages within the cage. Three lead to concrete boxes filled with a surprise one box, boiling water; another box, hot ice; the third box is the prize, a break room with a couch, television, radio, and a security monitor. But, do not be deceived for this like the rest of this great dome like pain device has a catch. The door opens only twice to let the person in, and then thirty minutes later. If the person does not leave within thirty minutes, they are trapped and there are no clocks. The Fourth Stage, leads to another dome outside the main one. It is the entrance, but after the doors are shut, three men will reside in the smaller dome. Should a fighter enter that dome before the end of the match, the three men beat him, and chain him up for the remainder of the match. The only way to win is to ring the bell at the top of the Dome, three times. No Pin falls, No Submissions, No Disqualifications. Anything goes in this dome of torment and punishment. Welcome to Purgatory!
