About the Artist
At age 4, Sara Evans was already on stage, and it didn't take long to see she was right where she belonged. With her song-writing ability and heart-wrenching vocal style, Evans collected country music fans everywhere with the 1997 release of Three Chords & The Truth. RCA released two songs as singles from this hit album, "True Lies" and "Shame About That."

Evans led a delightful stampede through the country music arena in 1998. Fans applauded the release of her second album, No Place That Far, in October 1998. Once again, she wrote many of the songs herself. Many of her friends, such as George Jones, Martina McBride and Vince Gill, contributed background vocals. Also in 1998, she sang "Distance Between You & Me" for the album, Songs of Dwight Yoakum: Will Sing for Food. As background vocalist, she added her rich voice to the two more 1998 albums, Tammy Wynette Remembered and Key by Vince Gill.

Stepping into country-pop in 1999, Evans took Martina McBride, Mindy McCready and Lorrie Morgan along for the ride on the compilation album, Girls Night Out. This playful recording of 27 songs included Evans' "Daydream Believer" as well as several others. In 2000, she released Born to Fly and topped it off with a CMA Horizon Award nomination.
