The six band members, fifteen years ago, were individual diamonds in the rough. Lacking todays luster, each member of the group, although growing up playing music, had to struggle from the bottom of the rungs to reach the top of the stardom ladder.
When they first came together they called themselves the Tennessee River Boys and were heavily into Bluegrass. In 1989, Diamond Rio was born and signed a recording contract with Arista. Its self-titled debut album was released in 1991 with the song "Meet Me In the Middle" soaring to the top of the charts.
Close to the Edge, Diamond Rio's second album, was another great success and in 1994, Love a Little Stronger was released, continuing the band's rise in popularity. 1996 and 1998 brought two more skyrocketing successes, IV and Unbelievable.
Diamond Rio is brilliantly cutting its way to the top.
