Starting out in his father's band as a child, Quintanilla quickly and thoroughly learned the ropes of the family business. Later, as part of his sister's backup group, Quintanilla earned a measure of popularity in his own right.

Teamed with the hard-edged Latin Pop of Los Kumbia Kings, Quintanilla has released only one major-label album, the all-original Amor Familia Y Respeto. But he is widely seen as one of the genre's most promising rising stars.
