Notes for Abiel Goodridge

Abiel Goodridge's name is recorded as Abial Goodrich in Enfield, NH after he moved there from Newbury, MA. Abiel is buried in the Enfield, NH town Cemetary, his stone is Number 60. It was still legible in the 1990's. Abiel was a private in Capt. Joseph Haley's Co, Col Cogswell's Regiment, discharged 16 Nov, 1776: service 2 months.

Abiel and his family were in Newburyport according to the census of 1790. Listing for the household was 1 male over 16 years of age, 7 males under age of 16, and 3 females. In the 1800 census they were in Enfield, NH. Family listing was for 3 males under 10, 2 males between 10 and 16, and 1 over 46. Females were 1 under 10, 1 age 26 to 46 and 1 over 46.

Abiel's descendants lived eventually in many places in NH and Vermont.
