Notes for Joseph M. Goodridge
In the 1850 census, Joseph was 57, born in NH, Sarah was 54, also born in NH. Barnet (Joseph Barnet) was 17, born in NH. Darwin was 15, born in Vermont, Harriet was 13 also born in Vermont, Warren was 12, George was 8. Richard, Jane and Rachel were married so not in the household in the 1850 census. Abiel, who married in Wisconsin, probably had already left home. Alpheus did not marry til 1852, but he was not at home. Mahal and Melinda did not marry until 1851 and 1854.
Joseph is also in the 1840 census in Brookfield.
In 1870 Joseph was living with Warren in Brookfield, age 77, occupation was as "at home". Sarah had died in 1866. Warren was age 31, a farmer with real estate worth $1,500, personal work $1,635.
Joseph died of heart disease according to information in the Vermont Vital Records.
