They say 'Home is where the heart is...'
With Russell you can tell this is true. He lives on a farm in Australia where he has 200+ head of cattle, horses, dogs, chickens, a few snakes and I've heard even a platypus. He obviously has a huge love for animals and many of Russell's movies have involved horses or animals of some kind. Here are just a few pics of Russ with various animals. I'm not sure if any of these dogs are actually his or not...but supposedly after he made the Silver Brumby he got a blue heler (australian cattle dog) puppy from the person who owned the dog in the movie. Apparently the dog's name is Chessen and I think he has another dog as well. You can tell Russell just loves Australia in general as well and often when he's away in the U.S. you can see he gets a bit homesick. He is a great supporter of "his team," the South Sydney Rabbitohs footy team and he makes us all want to go to Australia. Well at least he makes ME want to go anyway! |
