Okay, here it is in all it's inline-framed glory! Couldn't do the title or background the way I wanted to do it if I did the whole page as a frameset, but I thought an inline frame did the job nicely. So here's the new site. If only I could get ahold of a decent picture of me to put up there somewhere, so you all know what a doofus I really do look like.
We worked out the crap with the van for our youth group trip, so thanks for all your support! Now, if only that one kid hadn't decided to skip out. It would have been great for her to come along -- I don't think I even know who she is, she attends so seldom. Now, I don't want to sound like I'm proselytizing, but it hurts me to see people drift away from the church -- especially when they haven't had a chance to look around. I've met a lot of people who avoid church because they "hate it," but they've only ever been to one or two churches. For a week. It's not about church, people: it's about faith. I draw a line between the two. And this poor girl won't get a chance to examine that difference or realize that not all churches are the same. I feel like it's a lost opportunity there.
Then again, in the words of the inimitable Gracie Allen, "Never place a period where God has placed a comma." There's always hope. ;-)
So anyway, today I've been shuffling some paperwork for the trip and packing. I did go to pick up the van earlier today, too, so that's pretty good. I think we're about as ready as we ever will be.
The job situation is pretty sketchy again. I called Target yesterday to let the HR manager know that I'll take the job, but she was in a meeting. I left a message with the operator and never got a call back. What the heck am I supposed to do now? I left another message this morning, and actually went so far as to drop off a letter for the lady explaining the situation. Think that's enough? I hope so. Otherwise, I could be royally screwed for a job. Again.
After the Target run, I ran to the video store again... finally got a hold of disc one of Firefly, so I've finally seen the original pilot (Fox played the episodes out of order, apparently, and the last episode they aired was actually inteded as the pilot). Man, this is a cool show. Dig the characters, the plot, everything. Can't wait for that movie! Later tonight, I'm gonna be a complete geek and watch the commentaries... as long as I get my other preparations for the trip done in time.
Yeah, no life. I know. It's pathetic, and only gonna get worse from here... I'll be working nights, remember?
Sigh.
