Still here...

(07/29/05)

I am still here, and still doing updates. Now, the real question is: is anyone actually reading this stuff? Drop me a line if you are...

...and that's a fine example of me setting myself up for failure... :-p

So my life has been very plain lately. I haven't done anything beside work, really. Well, I've played some computer games, and read a couple books, but otherwise, life's been quiet. Still, I figured an update wouldn't be such a bad idea.

Work has been getting better and better. I feel like I can actually build some good rapport with these kids in the three days I have with them. Of course, it helps that the past couple weeks have been smaller groups. Last week was about 10... this past week was 8. This past week was especially easy, since they were all girls. Girls are SO much easier than boys at this age. Although... I did have one girl tell me "I think I might have a crush on you, because... um... you're cute." See? I AM quite the eligable bachelor. 6-year-olds say so, so it must be true. :-p

The only other news to report is that last weekend, I went out to my parents' cabin. My cousin, Becky, will be starting at Cornell next year, and they wanted to come up to see the general region, and visit family, since that hasn't happened in a while now. So I went over to see them. My Aunt Wendy and cousins Beth and Becky were there (Jen, the oldest, is in Denmark on some archeological project), and they brought Nessie with them. Nessie is a "biscotti" dog: a bishon frise (I totally misspelled that) mixed with a scottish terrier. Cute little thing, but yappy as all get-out. She and Reese, the big chocolate lab, had an interesting time together, fighting over toys and trying to play. Only problem was, Reese could have stepped on her without even noticing, so the parents tried to keep the two seperated as much as possible.

The visit was a lot of fun, overall. Good conversation, a lot of laughter (which I really, desperately needed), and even some peace and quiet. I'm really glad my parents got themselves that cabin... I know they certainly are!

Unfortunately, that's all I have for you today. Like I said, life's been really slow. I haven't even been anywhere yet on that chauffeur gig Gibson hooked me up with. Things should pick up in a little while. In the mean time, I hope to finally attack this website's design a bit... maybe tomorrow, if I don't get a call to go for a drive!
