She's home!!!

(06/15/05)

Gibson's back, as of late this afternoon!

I'm really not sure what else to say about this one... she's back! That's a good thing. I was hoping to chat with her a bit more, but she's exhausted and having stomach issues (ate too much down in Florida. Tisk tisk!), so she really just wanted to get home, unload the car, unpack, shower, and get to bed.

We did get dinner at Moosewood, as per her request. However, neither one of us was terribly happy with the meals. She ordered fish, which I thought was okay, but she didn't really like it; I ordered soup, which was good, but not what I was expecting. The menu said "black-eyed pea gumbo," okay? Is it too much to ask for a little kick from your gumbo? Sigh. Well, it is Moosewood -- even their disappointments are better than many places' best dishes!

Anyhow, following that, I grabbed a couple things for Gibson from home, and we went back to her place to unload the car and start unpacking. Well, I helped unload, and that's about it. I'm not exactly comfortable unpacking and putting away someone else's stuff, no matter how well I know her. And because I do know her, I know better than to try to figure out where her stuff goes!

My biggest disappointment is that my foul mood came back. Hard-core. I think it was partially that I felt pretty useless while she unpacked stuff (I was really close to just saying, "You know, while you unpack, I should just go and get out of your way." In hindsight, I probably should have.), and partially that I was disappointed in her reaction. I missed her this past week, and I was pretty darn excited to see her again. I didn't get that sense from her, which is why I got into a pretty foul mood pretty quick.

Looking back, however, she probably didn't know how happy I was to see her again. I sure didn't act that way, myself... I'm a pretty subdued person, particularly in public.

Gah!

Anyway, plans for the rest of the week: Thursday, mow Kristin's lawn again (Gibson's got another lawn to do, and it's even bigger than Kristin's) and put my stuff together for Sunday's talk about the worktrip to Tennessee. Friday morning, meet with Kristin about what I found on Thursday. Friday afternoon, keep working on the presentation, possibly meet with my mom when she comes to town with her quilt group. Saturday: either travel to Rochester or Dansville to visit my dad for Father's Day, or host the family as they come here so we can celebrate Father's Day together.

Gonna be an interesting weekend. At least the weather cooled off a bit.

A little PS: what's the deal with GeoCities? I can't upload my files! They won't let me use an FTP program, so I have to use their "easy upload" feature. Every time I try to upload "index.html," it tells me it's an "invalid file." What? How is that an invalid file? So I have to use your bogus "HTML Editor" to get my site to work? Give me a break! Stupid PC-obsessed world. Stop hatin' us Macs!
