About Us
Fighting Dragon Martial Arts actually began about six years ago in an old hay loft in my parents barn.

I originally had no intentions of opening a school in this area. Mostly because I did not want to compete with my instructor.

One day I was contacted by one of my old high school teachers. His oldest son Sam was really interested in the Martial Arts. He was getting as much information as he could; from the library, to movies, or wherever. They recalled that I had studied martial arts and approached me about teaching Sam. They insisted that I be the one to teach him because they knew and trusted me.
So we began.

We started in the hay loft that I originally converted for my own personal training. We had an arrangement, I would teach him Martial Arts and his Mother would teach me how to play the piano. Eventually Sam's Father and younger brother began. After a while his other two siblings as well as his mother started joing the ranks. The school gradually grew, mostly close freinds and family. We remained in the hay loft for a few years. I tried to branch out by teaching in Meadville, Pa. But had little success.

Then my instructor Master Aikens decided to sell his school in Corry and moved back to Spartansburg.

Since there was no longer any real martial arts schools in the community, I decided that it was time for Fighting Dragon Martial Arts to expand and to become public in order to help promote the martial arts in the Corry community. Before long we were looking for a place with a little more room that we could call home. So I began teaching at the Corry Comunity Center. We remained there for a few short months when I was offered a position at the local YMCA. Shortly after I started there a building became open downtown. After checking it out I decided it would make a suitable dojo. There we have remained ever since.
