THE PARK: General Impressions: +0
This place is, well, pretty crappy. It looks very run down, unsafe, and dirty.
I wouldn't look for the park to add anything new for a long time (if
ever) as it didn't appear to be doing well (though apparently the Ferris
wheel is pretty new). Besides a few kiddie rides and the two coasters,
the park offers mini-golf, go karts, an odd-looking monorail, a
tilt-a-whirl, a scrambler, bumper cars, a merry-go-round, bumper boats,
and a 1/3 scale steam train ride that takes riders on a 3-mile ride
through the countryside. I hear its a pretty cool ride, but its not quite my thing.
Little-A-Merrick-A is pretty much an eyesore. It's not well kept, and
it's one of those "build it in a parking lot" places. I don't remember
seeing much grass or even trees, except around the mini-golf. All the paths are gravel. The park
didn't really interest me, so I took a spin on the coasters (once each)
then left.
SWISS TOBOGGAN - Chance Rides "toboggan" coaster. Year unknown. 1
Ugh. This was my first toboggan ride, and yes, it was a negative
experience. I didn't even fit in the cars! You have to sit down and
they close the top over you (it looks like a car to an enterprise flat
ride) and I had to bend my neck to the side to fit. From there, the ride
is painful and not fun. I'd rather spin myself in circles than ride this
again (which is basically what it does anyway, with some nice jolts thrown in for good measure).
MAD MOUSE - Allan Herschell portable steel wild mouse. +3
I kind of liked this. It's tiny for a wild mouse, and the cars are very
small. Though the upkeep is pretty bad, the ride was remarkably smooth.
There's one spot of airtime, and some nice laterals through the course.
Basically, it seemed like the car didn't know where it wanted to
Go - which is exactly what a wild mouse should feel like. If this were
a little larger and better kept, it could be a lot of fun.
