HTML CODE

Before I came into the Web Page Design I knew a little bit about the Html code. In the Microsoft Word class in the fourth quarter, I learned to make a web page. Basically, I knew the basics of how to make a web page. From the html tag to the body and more, I learned to make web pages. However, in the Web Page Design class I expanded my knowledge of the Html code. I learned more things to apply and how to apply them. For example, I learned that when you close something you don�t need to do this . Instead you just do and it makes everything a lot more easier. I think that I am semi-employable, I can do a good job but I am not as great as other people. I somewhat lack the creativity for web page, but I can organize things better.

KNOWLEDGE OF SEARCH ENGINES

My knowledge of search engines before entering this class was limited to what everyone else knew. Basically I knew that you go to a search engine type what you want and it comes up. The one problem I kept having was that every time I would get a lot of irrelevant things therefore implying that the words that I typed in were not good enough to describe what I was looking for. In this class I learned which one was the best search engine, which is Google. In order to get as many accurate web sites as you want, what is necessary is to type in key words that describe what you are looking for. I also learned how to register my web site with search engines, which is something I did not know before. Overall I think my knowledge in search engines is good and that I would be employable in this area.

UNDERSTANDING OF CASCADING STYLE SHEETS

Before I came into the Web Page Design class I did not know anything about cascading style sheets. My information on that subject did not exist until I came into the Web Page Design class. In the classroom I started to learn more and more about the cascading style sheets. Nevertheless, my knowledge of cascading style sheets is still limited. I know how to make it so that each paragraph looks the same without having to type the codes over and over. All that it necessary is to write it in the head and then put a

in front of each paragraph. What that does is apply what you have written in the head tag to all of the other paragraphs. However, that is all I know and therefore I think that I would not be able to be employable in that aspect. If someone would have wanted me to work in that area I don�t think I would be very good because of my limited knowledge in that area.

USE OF TABLES

Basically, before entering this classroom I had no knowledge of tables. At the beginning of the school year, I learned a little bit about tables. Essentially I learned how to make tables by making columns and rows. I also learned how to apply other things to tables like color, size, and more. However, later on in the year, my knowledge of tables increased. Later on I learned how to do nested tables which means that I learned how to put a table inside a table. This enables the web page designer to organize the web page better and make good use of white space. I this area I think that I am employable, I really learned how to organize and work with tables.

USE OF FORMS

Forms were nothing I was ever aware of before this class. All I knew about forms was what I saw on the Internet, like the log ins for e-mail. I the beginning of the year I learned how to make forms, like for a comments page. What I learned was how to make text boxes so people can write their names. How to do radio buttons so people can check off only one selection. The other thing that I learned was how to place log in sections in my web page. For example, I was able to place a log in for hotmail, yahoo, and other places on my web page. In this area I also think that I might be employable, the one thing I would have to learn to do a better job at is a shopping cart.

KNOWLEDGE OF FUSION

Before this class I did not know what fusion was. Fusion is a program that helps a person make a web page. Instead of being bothered with all of the html codes all the person needs to do is write. In other words it is much simple than the html code. This enables a person to be able to create a web page in a matter of minutes. I think that fusion is much better to use fusion than html code, however the html enables the person to have more control of the creation. I think that my sills and knowledge of fusion have improved. Therefore, I think I would be employable in this area.

UNDERSTANDING OF SITE STRUCTURE

I had a little bit of understanding of site structure before I came into this classroom from my previous class. I knew how to do links in order to get to another page. I knew how to use it to get to another page in my web page and how to get to another page on the Internet. When I came into the Web Page Design class I learned that in order to make a good web page there should at least be three web pages, not including the home page. What is also necessary is to make good use of white space. Essentially, don�t make things to wide a part or to close together. In this area I think that I would not be employable. I know all about links but I am not good at using up white space or creativity.

PRACTICE OF USING PROFESSIONAL DESIGN LAYOUT "WEB APPEAL"

Before this I had not idea about web appeal. All I knew was that in order to make a web page what was necessary is to put things on a page. However, I had no idea about trying to appeal to other people but myself. In this class I learned that when I make a web page I need to make in order to appeal to other people. I can do this by using up all the white space. Making sure things are not too close to the edge of the screen. Spacing things out properly and things like that. Nevertheless, I can do all of these things, but I somewhat lack the creativity. I think that it would be better if someone told me what to do, and I would just create it form them. In this area I think I am somewhat employable.

EMPLOYABILITY BASED ON ATTENDANCE AND DAILY BEHAVIOR IN CLASS

My employability based on attendance and daily behavior in class is good. I am not absent often, expect when I am sick. Other then that I have a good record of being in class. Not only that, but I do my homework all the time and on time as well. My behavior in class is great, I am quite, do my work. However, at the same time I try to help people around me who have problems. For example, if someone does not understand something I will step in and try to help them. When I have a problem, I�ll try to solve it myself and if I can�t solve it myself I will always ask for help, either from me peers or the teacher.
