My
Poem
(This poem has been printedin
several literary maganizes. I wrote this in
response to a project that I suffered from several writers block
...this poem reflects this.)
Today the Sage would Fall
WRITINGS Sage stares at the blank page.
its white-colored walls, holds prisoner his thoughts, his words, his expression,
his army.
he hears their tortured screams pleading to be freed from their capture.
the Sage tries and tries and tries once more to set free his tortured thoughts
panic begins to set in.
What if his troops were trapped forever?
What if the key to his success was never found?
What if his fate was sealed......
his thoughts went quickly to the Creature.
his own personal creature that held his battalion in his huge dark palm.
a creature that has been confronted and defeated many times,
but the Creature had a friend, an ally and
Today the Sage would fall....
Dangling in front of him was a man-made blunder.
man claimed it was always there, that it alone molded the earth.
but it really had no power until men harvested it and gave it his throne.
since its creation it has

now is the age of "the King."
man allows the King to be master over life and death.
the Sage took the King for granted.
now together the Creature and the King waited, like a predator waits for
its sweet victim.
they spoke in a monotonous groan
"Today the Sage would fall..."
The Writings Sage unsheathed his mystical tool.
a instrument which has saved many lives and ended even more.
this was the Sages only weapon.
at the glimpse of this tool the Creature flinched.
over come with rage the Creature leaped upon the Sage.
its sharp talons clawed at the Sages mind.
quickly the Writings Sage plunged his weapon deep into the Creatures
belly.
as the Creatures powerless body fell so did the cream-colored wall that
imprisoned his army.
they came flowing through the barrier covering every inch of the page.
the stunned King disappeared into rightful nothingness leaving only his
lingering thought.
Today the Sage would fall...
