Synopsis of the book Russia's Little America
To overcome any enemy, learn his weaknesses. Use them to one's
own advantage. To do this requires a game of collecting information.
This is done through the use of spies. Young Grigori learns
this early.
Grigori acquires a role model and wants to emulate him. That
role model hero happened to be a Politburo member who heads up
the entire KGB. Fresh out of Moscow University, Grigori learns
his spy trade in a small Moscow apartment devoted to turning out
spies to be planted in the U.S. Over time he is rises within
the KGB, becomes a deputy director and dreams of building a better
spy school.
Grigori is authorized to build a secret spy training center
outside of Novosibirsk in the middle of Siberia. Secretly he
builds not only one but two training centers, one where in the
middle and a second super-secret center in Northern Kamchatka
near Alaska. The second center was part of a village that had
to resemble an American village. The young trainees must master
living as a U.S. citizen so as to blend in when they are placed.
Grigori needed a construction crew for the super-secret Far
Eastern American replica that would not only be able to work in
that remote area and survive, but be able to stay there permanently
after the construction was finished. While looking for someone
in the Railway Ministry that could help with logistics of moving
construction materials, he meet the love of his life, Tatyana.
She just happened to be a Siberian Mongolian Chinese, part of
a Buryat minority group found around the Lake Baikal area. With
her help, he managed to recruit his construction crew among these
people. Tatyana, like her mother, was also a shamaness who practiced
the Buryat religion of Mongolian shamanism.
Over the years the population of Lapotina grows. More and
more children are making their presence felt for many are very
unusual children. The shamaness is able to see them as New Age
children especially when she is requested to help as a teacher.
Her rather remarkable teaching abilities and methods bring out
the best in the youngsters.
Grigori has made general but also been subjected to a deadly
assassination attempt that left him wanting to retire to his super-secret
village.
A young American teenager is rescued when his family is lost
during a boating accident. Not told he is in Russia and not allowed
to leave, he ends up making the village and especially the school,
more American than ever. By the time the new century was upon
this village, it was one of the most progressive of any settlement
in Russia. It was being discovered by the outside world and soon
the spy training center was turned into something else and tourists
were discovering the area as a sporting attraction. When cruise
ships begin visiting Lapotina all remark about how it really looks
like a "Little America".

What happens when a creative KGB Director takes it upon himself
to build a super-secret American spy training school that is a
perfect replica of a village in Middle America? Does it work
with only English being spoken on the streets or in the stores
and offices that resemble how an America village works? Will
the graduates be able to blend into the U.S. when they are illegally
placed?
What happens when the KGB colonel has an affair with one of
Russia's minority group natives? She is a well-educated and beautiful
Siberian Mongolian Chinese Buryat. More than that, Tatyana is
a practicing shamaness and because of her ancestry, a princess
as well. Of course there are complications. The KGB Director
has a second mistress who also has a relationship with his Oriental
lover.
What happens when the two female lovers find their main man
is one and the same? They both discover they are pregnant and
want to leave Moscow behind to live in and help manage the super-secret
spy training center in Siberia that has a higher standard of living
than the rest of Russia.
What happens when it is discovered that the children born into
the village are unusual in their abilities, and part of New Age
children being born around the world? In the U.S. they are labeled
Indigo Children because of the color of their aura. In Tatyana's
school they are being taught with rather special techniques, whereas
in the western world they are labeled ADD or Attention Deficit
Disorder and given drugs such as Ritalin.
What happens when an American teenager is rescued as a sole
survival in a sea disaster? He is not told the village is in
Russia. What kind of changes does he make?
What happens when the Soviet Union changes over to Russia?
What if a Deputy Director of the KGB's Second Directorate
received orders from the Politburo and Council of Ministers to
build a top secret spy training center for North American sleeper
agents and he decides to do it his way? What if his way was to
not build one but to build two, one a super-secret village bordering
the Bering Sea facing Alaska. It would be easy to plant them
in Alaska by fishing trawlers. The Deputy Director wants to perfect
these American agents by having them train in a village that is
a replica of a Midwestern village right out of Illinois or Indiana.
They speak English on the streets and use American dollars in
stores that are modeled after those found in America. Does the
plan work? Are the agents so well oriented to American culture
and life-style that they fit in without being detected?
