Some speculators place it's location off coast of southern U.S. Edgar Cayce, for one, described it as an ancient continent of gifted, scientific minded and enterprising people. Peace loving at first but later split into two factions: The Children of the Law of One (UPPER CLASS, usually the royalty and aristocrats), (believed in "fatherhood of god and brotherhood of man") and the Sons of Belial, practitioners of the occult and rising from the ranks of what sociology today might call the "lower class" made up of the more common people. What might be called lower class by a sociologist.
The leaders had the enlightened idea of a closer relationship between man and creator and between man and man. The Great Pyramid was to be the final product of the last of Atlantean thought, a statement to the universe of what man was. It would interpret forever what man had been, what man is, and what man could be in the material plane. It would chronicle all the changes in man's religious thoughts from all over the world. It would also signify the place where the records of the history of Atlantis resided. The Hall of Records would contain the duplicate documents (also buried near Bimini) written to explain the entire message of the Great Pyramid. The lines of force around the earth show the location of the pyramid to be safe, central, and advantageous for preserving the pyramid to withstand time and circumstance securely.
Beliefs of the Atlanteans? When man first appeared, he was in soul form. Other life was evolutionary and going on before the advent of man. Evolution is like God coming awake. Man in soul form was not sheathed in a physical body. Souls were free of the limitations of a body. They could project themselves into other forms of life such as plant, tree, or animal. Later, the Druids would believe the same thing.
Purpose of projecting? To experience creation. Spirits can not experience physical sensation without a body for they must have the physical senses. The five senses of the human body was responsible for the five races of man. Atlantis embraced the red race.
The soul has both male and female characteristics. It is androgynous. It was in Atlantis that male and female separation actually took place. Sex then came into being and the Atlanteans were the inventors of the styles of sexual pleasure humans still experience today. The variety of fore and after play was much more varied in Atlantis than in present day society. Much was lost in translation. It was from these practices that later the Kama Sutra would be written.
The difference between animal and human forms was the core of the problem of one group or Atlanteans and another. The struggle between the Children of the Law of One and the Sons of Belial went on for thousands of years. Final destruction of Atlantis was result of the action of the Sons of Belial destroying themselves as well as their enemies with their insatiable desire for knowledge and power.
Material encasement of the soul was the result of self-indulging and self-aggrandizement on part of the souls. Misuse of their creative powers and interrupting the evolutionary pattern of the planet resulted in their being "locked" into the physical laws of the planet. The big law was physical death. The only escape was reincarnation Children of the Law of One were still pure, not cut off from their spiritual nature and Creator. They had compassion for the trapped Sons of Belial. A vehicle was provided for regaining their spiritual heritage ....that vehicle was man.
Children of the Law of One believed the soul was given by the Creator and entered from the outside and protected the mental and spiritual self at given periods.
Atlanteans also examined entrails of sacrificed animals and humans as well as burying alive vestal virgins who broke vows. During the later days of Atlantis, five prophets lived and gave forecastes about the doomed continent.
