(LAS VEGAS, NEVADA)--Darkwing presents his magic production, Phantazmic!�, with hopes it will alter public expectations of what a magic and illusion show can be. "Today we're more aware than ever that magic is the hottest form of entertainment," Darkwing said.
Phantazmic!�, is a departure from classic magic and illusion. When asked how he would describe Phantazmic!�, Darkwing responded, "An Event!" Darkwing has managed to produce on stage a show which provides total entertainment for the whole family and has included elements not usually seen in regular magic and illusion shows. Phantazmic!� consists of large-scale illusions, magic, music, special effects and beautiful girls along with handsome guys who provide stylish dance. Darkwing's lead illusion assistant is also the show's choreographer. Comedy magic is performed by The Gamesters who have appeared with Franz Harary and have worked as magic consultants on a popular TV series. Chris Collins who also is Darkwing's production stage manager provides another magic segment; showing the diversity and talents of Darkwing's personnel.
Gone are the multiple costume changes and massive props which overshadow other magic productions. Darkwing has built his show around impeckable talent, pulsating music, high-tech lighting, energizing special effects, visually stunning illusions and above all a style and personality that IS the magic of Darkwing. "I'm hoping that Phantazmic!� will inspire people and bring a new understanding of the diversity in the art of magic and illusion," said Darkwing. "We have a big role to play if we are to see the survival of our art and thrust magic into the next century." Darkwing is now emerging as one of the hottest and most sought-after magic and illusion entertainers.
Visual artistry dominates the show. Its centerpiece is Darkwing's production of Midnite's Magic Room. This is a fantasy number which is fun for both children and adults which features Midnite, First Granddaughter of Illusions. Children are brought up on stage to be a part of this magical room. Darkwing has successfully plugged into our imaginative child side and fulfilled dreams which we all dreamed when we were young; creating a world of reality from that imagination.
Darkwing is expected to perform over 480 shows in the up-coming year with audiences paying from $24.00 to $68.00 per ticket. "The average ticket price will be only $46 which is slightly under the industry standard for this type of show. With Darkwing, his lead illusion assistant, The Gamesters, Chris Collins and dancers, Phantazmic!� is one of the largest magic and illusion shows," said Darkwing's publicist. After checking some of the other popular productions, ticket-pricing was in fact found to be lower than shows like Lord of the Dance, Riverdance, Beauty and the Beast, David Copperfield, Siegfried and Roy, or most any other popular Broadway show.
"It's very New Age, with Classic overtones," said Darkwing. "There's lots of excitement and suspense. It's a celebration of joy. The opening number is the most exciting you will ever experience in live theatre. It puts the audience in the middle of the magic; making them part of Phantazmic!�'s fantasy from the opening illusion. This 10-minute, story-filled piece packs over four illusions in it as well as a few surprises. It's a show in itself. I am working on a piece which will be added to the show as an encore presentation. It is a thriller, audience interaction piece which puts the audience literally in the middle of heart-throbbing, pulse-stopping excitement. It is unbelievably intense, but at the same time the most fun an audience will experience anywhere. It's entitled, "Recreation". It has the look of Frankenstein, the feel of alien, and will keep you on the edge of your seats in suspense."
The feel of being thrusted into Darkwing's world is authentic. Each number is story-based and are masterpieces in themselves. Industry analysts predict that Darkwing will sell out much of his tour in record time. Ticket demand is expected to be at an all-time high. But Darkwing assures his fans world-wide that he will squeeze as many shows as possible into the already jammed-packed tour schedule. "The up-side to this tour, is that we will perform in a lot of cities and countries. But the down-side is that we can only perform a limited number of nights in each city. This puts a high demand on tickets in just about everywhere we perform. However, we will perform two shows per night (and even three on weekends) in as many places as we can," said Darkwing's tour coordinator. She continues, "Darkwing has set an ending date for PHANTAZMIC. So, you won't be able to see it on his next tour. This puts even more emphasis on seeing Phantazmic!� when it rolls into your city." Tickets officially go on sale Saturday, October 31 at 10:00am nation-wide through Ticketmaster including Ticketmaster On-Line.
