FAQs

The following is the famous ogo "reboot" process. The majority of problems can be fixed with the following process. Please really try it and really follow it step by step. I will post other FAQs and links soon, but this one process really fixes a majority of issues so please try it:

As I said, this should resolve a good deal of issues that arise with the ogo. I will soon add more info and FAQs to cover other topics.

Here is a FAQ for reviving a deactivated ogo as has been posted on the forums recently (has to have been activated in the past):
  • 1: Original Owner Call Customer support and ask for AT&T / Cingular "Blue" - Support department.
  • 2: Let them know you once had an active ogo account and would like to "revive" that account and make it active once again.
  • 3: If you don't have the SIM you may need to tell them you lost the SIM and order a new one from them to reactivate the dead ogo.
  • 4: Once the ogo is revived if it is being transferred to a new user you will have to complete the ActiveSwap process described in the next FAQ.
For more information please read at the cingular forums. http://forums.cingular.com/cng/board?board.id=ogo

Here is the FAQ for ActiveSwap as posted by Jodyl:

How to perform an ActiveSwap:
  • 1: Original Ogo Owner cleans out all accounts and contacts from their device and mails it to You
  • 2: You acknowledge receipt of the device and test it using only one account (as not to affect the billing for Original Ogo Owner).
  • 3: Original Ogo Owner calls Cingular's Change Of Financial Responsibility Number [(800) 298-2158] and notes the account is moving to You.
  • 4: You call the same Cingular number. You need to have the Original Ogo Owner's name, as well as the Device Phone Number (under Settings\Network\MSISDN)
  • 5: Tell the Representative that this is an Ogo account! (This is so You don't have to go through a credit check)
  • 6: They will change the name on the account, then ask to be transferred to billing.
  • 7: Have them transfer the billing to Your card.
  • 8: Also ask them to setup an online account (so You can update Your billing info later (such as in my case, my cc expires in 2 months).
