| I HAVE HAD MANY REQUESTS FOR HELP DEFEATING BOSSES IN THE GAME. THIS PORTION IS NOT COMPLETED | |||||||||||||
| IFRIT HP:1068 AP:20 Weak vs. Ice/Absorbs Fire Ifrit is your very first oppertunity to battle against a boss. This boss is supossed to be a test of your judgment. The higher you score in your judgement, the higher your seed ranking will be after you complete your SeeD field exam later in the game. Its is extrememly easy but important to achieve a great judgment score. Here is how: You judgment is based on how much time is left after you defeat Ifrit. the less the time, the higher your score will be. |

| To achieve the highest possible score you it is better to start planning before you ever enter the Fire Cavern to battle Ifrit. First of all I made sure that Shiva (your key GF for this fight) was extremely beefed up and also that my party was at full Hp levels before entering the cavern. When you enter you will be asked to choose a time limit in wich you must defeat Ifrit in that time. When I first battled this boss I thought that I wasnt experienced enough to beat the boss in 10 min...or even 30 min, so I chose 40 min as my time limit. BAD IDEA! Please trust me when I say that as long as Shiva is pretty powerful (atleast 500 points of damage every summon) anyone can defeat this boss in 10 min withough any trouble at all. The strategy guide for this game says at the start of the battle summon Shiva until Ifrits hp is 100 then wait for the time to dwindle down to about 20-25 second and blast him with ice magic until he is defeated. This is probably a good plan to follow but it is not the strategy to follow. Here is how I defeated the boss: First of all I will let you know that when I entered this fight I had beefed up Shiva to where she could cause about 900 points of damage to Ifrit in one summon (A very good thing to have). So the first thing I did was summon Shiva. Since Ifrit only has 1068 hp points he was pretty much toasted by just that summon. Since I still had plenty of time to spare I simply cast scan on Ifrit for two reasons, one: to check his hp levels, and two: if you are in scan the time still ticks down but this prevents Ifrit from ever getting in a attack against your party (pretty tricky eh?). I then waited until there was about 35-40 second left. The reson why I left so much time to spare is because just incase Ifrit does have an attack ready to cast against your party you will still have time for him to carryout his attack. As soon as you get out of scan and the char that has junctioned Shiva is ready to attack summon Shiva again. I can almost guarentee that thsis strategy will work for you but if Ifrit does not back out of the fight pummel him with physical attacks or ice magic until the very end. And also keep in mind my ideas my not seem like good ones to you so you may want to follow the strategy guide's plan instead of mine. Its completely up to you. |
