MISNOS TECHNOLOGY - A VIEW OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT
Summary of a High School Student's exposure to MISNOS Technology  who worked for her School Computer Project at Secondary School Board Level Examination
Multilingual Multimedia Information Services Network Operating System (MISNOS) is certainly a mouthful of a name. If it turns out to be what I imagine it to be, it is certainly going to give a facelift to Indian software. MISNOS appears to have been attempted keeping in mind people like me, because it is supposed to have what I can best describe as the Do-it-yourself technology. What I mean is that it is not going to pester the user with and sometimes most irritating messages like " can't continue", "Bad Command or file name" at the drop of a hat ; but is going to rectify minor errors on its own and in a way 'teach' the user to use it.
To err is human, to forgive is Divine. (People)
To err is unlikely, to forgive is unnecessary. (Computers)

MISNOS attempts to provide technological solutions to above situation through the use and application of Fuzzy Logic based techniques. It also talks about introducing Vernacular Computing. Today, multilingual concept is only understood as an interface and not as computing. While I do not understand this much, it does give me a feel that as I grow with the Information Technology, I am certainly going to be benefited from MISNOS Technology. It will pardon my silly mistakes and take me through my journey of work for which I use/ will use the computer systems.

The idea of MISNOS is to reach out to PEOPLE who are not-so-well versed in computers -  "Information for the Masses"  I think it is termed.

When computers were first introduced, only scientists and  computer engineers   could use it. But, now when the computer is encroaching into practically every sphere of life, people are awakening to the fact that they are not an ignorable subject. They are even found to replace teachers who are one of the most human needs. In this situation computers should be made more approachable to more people. One can't expect everyone to be a scientist and moreover not many care to be one. Love and affection for other faculties will always ensure that many do not prefer to be scientists, although these persons will love to use computers. Think of a poetry writing software in local language. It does not exist today. If MISNOS makes computers more accessible to people then we are only to thank our scientists for their thoughtfulness.

MISNOS is multilingual. That is one needn't know particularly this or particularly that language. It can be understood by the computer. I have no doubt that everyone will agree with me that India is the best place for the Multilingual aspect of Information Technology  to develop. Just as different people from different states watch movies in different languages which may have just been translated for making more money, MISNOS  allows people to understand the same thing in the language they are comfortable in. Moreover, there is probably no other country where so many languages are spoken. So Multi-lingual software has ample place to thrive here. Overall, MISNOS  seems to reach out to millions of people of various kinds- even those who have not had any exposure to computers.

But after all  above is said and done - I need to ask a question. Is man heading towards a better or a more lazy future? I am told by the MISNOS developer team that their next mission is Outer Space Civilization.
