My condolences and thoughts go out to all the victims and the families of victims killed or injured in the attacks on September 11 and all previous attacks.

One thing I feel is necessary to make perfectly clear is, I do support the efforts to find and destroy the organizations and individuals responsible and prevent similar things from happening in the future. Virtually everyone is already upset by what has happened and what is about to happen. By the time you read this page many people will be substantially more upset. Please try to channel this energy toward living in an improved society when the dust clears. Another fact that readers need to be aware of is, this article is written by someone who speaks with the voice of experience. I provided a mandatory donation of two years, during which time I took my chances on being shot and did kill people. As usual I am about to say some things which very few want to hear and ask some questions which are difficult to answer.

No amount of training, written words or vivid imagination will ever fully grasp the feeling that occurs when the real thing happens to you. Those who have experienced it know what I'm talking about and hopefully those who have not never will. This brings us to the first difficult question that must be answered when dealing with matters of war.

Where do you draw the line(s)? Many lines must be drawn and where you draw them will play a major role in determining victory or defeat and whether or not you become no better than the enemy. The first set of lines are those drawn on maps and referred to as borders. Although this seems quite simple on the surface since these lines have already been defined, however this is an aspect where US military leadership made a major mistake during the Vietnam conflict. When the borders are being used to define a safe haven they will guarantee the lives of your people near the border will be sacrificed. The people involved in the actual fighting are certain of the enemy location and  must be supported regardless of any political backlash. The next line that must be drawn is the line between innocent civilians and military targets. This line is much more difficult to draw than the first line. There are several questions that need to be addressed here. How do we define innocent? Are these people unarmed but providing food and medical care to the enemy? Is the enemy forcing these people to support their needs? Who gets to make the decision here? Now that I have you in a position to begin a lengthy analysis and debate, it's time to make things a substantially more difficult. The enemy will start shooting again in one minute, someone must make the call NOW. The fact of the matter here is only the people actually being shot at have any right to make the call. Just remember if you chose to support these people stand behind them if their call happens to be nobody is innocent. They are the ones whose life is on the line and they are doing it so that you will not have to. There is one matter where virtually everyone will agree, but it also raises a question that can only be answered sometime in the future. We can all easily agree that there should be no killing of innocent children. So where does anyone draw the line between innocent child and the child who will grow up, remember and seek revenge? Regardless of which side anyone is on there is an answer don't do anything to cause these feelings in the first place. Unfortunately it is too late to do that in the present situation.

Another very difficult aspect of eliminating terrorism is how far is anyone willing to go? The current politically correct response is "we will do whatever it takes", however given the facts already known about the enemy, does anyone really mean it? A review of the known facts provides us with a very disturbing and ugly scenario, which may already be unfolding. At first glance the persons who carry out suicide missions against total strangers appear to be insane, until we realize that there is virtually no chance that the insane could do this. These people were effectively brainwashed and controlled by their leaders who are definitely insane. Knowing this we must ask several questions such as; how many more conditioned drones are out there? who does the brainwashing? at what age does it begin? Perhaps the answers to these questions are not so difficult as you might think, although many people may have to redefine their own beliefs to face the reality of what the world must deal with. Since there seems to be a substantial number people sharing the same insanity necessary to engage in these activities it should be relatively easy to determine the common factor(s) which are the root cause of the problem. Now we return to the difficult task of determining exactly how to get the entire world to change their current stance on freedom, religion, economic system, or form of government.

Before anyone gets the idea that I do nothing except criticize, I would like to commend our government spokespeople and the media for the information they have presented on the dangers of a biological or chemical attack. There are vaccines and antibiotics which can be used to contain and control the agents most often mentioned. There have also been security measures taken with regard to hazardous material. We could use more public awareness on the danger presented by common household items. For example it was good ole bug spray which caused the disaster in Bhopal India. While admitting that a biological or chemical attack could occur there has been a reasonable effort to dispel the myth that there is a magic killer which spreads like the common cold. Another area where government officials have done a good job is in dealing with the threat to nuclear power plants. Unfortunately the media has proven to be more concerned with sensationalism than truth when using the words nuclear and radiation. Readers should be aware of the fact that I have spent approximately 20 years working in the nuclear industry. Any information presented here regarding the technology or security can be verified. Of course I am not going to tell you anything about security that is not already public knowledge. Nuclear reactors are contained in a building designed to survive an accidental crash of a 747. A severe meltdown where the reactor melts through the earth and reappears in China is not possible. There will not be another Chernobyl here. The reactor design is different and the parts required to cause that type of disaster are not included. Do not start stuttering about what you saw on TV. Go to a public library and look it up for yourself, something the media producers obviously did not do.With regard to security, any nuclear worker can tell you that is has been many years since it seemed as though their workplace had been taken over by the Gestapo. Metal and bomb detectors, putting their lunch through an X-ray machine  the chance of seeing a sniffer dog or going through a body search, have became part of their daily life. In many cases this all happens before they get to place their hand on what appears to be an ordinary looking metal pad, but somehow the little metal pad knows who you are and will not unlock the door if your little finger happens to twitch. I hope this little taste of what is really there has relieved some unfounded fears of anything involving radiation. Prior to moving on I'm going to let you in on a couple secrets. The greatest radiation danger we face in our daily lives comes from the dental hygienist taking X-rays and we cannot create giant ANTS.

Fortunately the vast majority of people already agree on some of the changes which are absolutely needed regarding our government and economy. The only part missing is public awareness which will force the lawmakers to respond. Shortly after the tragedy a few individuals gathered pieces of the debris and offered them for sale on E-Bay. The management of E-Bay promptly removed these items from the auction site and received a standing ovation. Quite obviously profiteering from the tragedy is something that society does not approve of. At least that was my initial interpretation of the events, however closer analysis reveals that there will be profiteering on a much larger scale without a whimper of disapproval. Every bullet, gun, bomb, missile, plane, ship and pair of underwear used by the military people will come from a defense contractor and reasonable costs include a 20% profit margin for the owners. This amounts to billions of dollars being paid to someone who already has billions of dollars. There are times when I wonder about being totally alone in having certain beliefs, nonetheless I stand behind the concept that absolutely nothing justifies the profiteering by defense contractors. When a country needs implements of war, make them and make them without the added cost of increasing the wealth of the wealthy.

The airline industry was the first suffer an economic impact from the attacks, and promptly responded by laying off approximately 100,000 workers and asking for government aid. Congress and the president quickly responded with a $15billion aid package. So why did the aid package not require the call back of laid off workers in order to receive the money? Since I only have some figures on the CEO of one airline I will not mention his name or which airline, but I am sure there are a few others who fit this category. This CEO has an annual salary of $12million plus perks and a severance package. Will those who administer the aid even suggest a substantial pay cut or is it too much to think we might make him get by on a lousy $1million next year. Can you say Sacred Cow? It has often been said that a crisis brings out the best in people. If this is true maybe the supporters of capitalism and democracy will recognize the opportunity to improve both systems. Things like war which is deemed necessary to preserve a way of life should be supported without applying the capitalist principle of maximizing anyone's profits, and the democratic principle of one person one vote should be applied in a such a way that all voters get to vote on the laws rather than voting on who gets to vote. Whether you like it or not these two items are required for the system to survive.

In light of the heightened security for travel and most events where there is a crowd we all must face a very serious question. How many rights and how much freedom are you willing to give up to preserve your rights and freedom? Personally I do not want to give up any, especially weapons. The events of September 11 clearly demonstrated the added safety we enjoy when the public is armed. Several very brave but unarmed passengers were able to prevent one of the planes from destroying the hijacker's targets. We can only imagine what else might have been easily prevented if anyone who chose to be was armed. Recent news interviews asking people what they would be willing to give up for the sake of safe travel have been truly disgusting. I have yet to see one instance where the person's response was opposed to giving up any rights or freedom. Do the media censors expect us to believe 100% of our nation is ready to give up on the Bill of Rights? The well meaning yet misguided supporters of giving up our rights need a brief lesson in reality. The persons who commit acts of terror (or any other crime) will not obey your laws. Before you plunge head first into a police state or dismiss this page as psychotic rambling, please finish reading this paragraph. My idea of the Ideal form of government is one where I make the rules, you have no say in important matters and my friends and I live in mansions with servants. Now ask yourself  do any of your current leaders share my philosophy?

We are all well aware of the fact that many soldiers do not return from war and many more return missing some body parts and spend the rest of their lives in a wheelchair. Something we do not seem to be quite so aware of is how this relates to the principle of one person one vote. Given the opportunity to actually vote on matters of importance would the general public vote to give the people who sit in Washington a pension TEN times as large and the man in the wheelchair?

This is more than enough of my rambling for anyone to digest at one time, but far from the end of this or the updates based on future events. Check back with this site and keep in mind that should I make a bad call I will publish something that says I made a bad call. Many of the issues we must address existed before September 11 and many will most likely still be there after WE WIN!!!

Updated rambling  October 9, 2001

As of October 8 the US and the UK have begun bombing Afghanistan. Let us hope the military leaders have learned a few lessons from Vietnam and the gulf war. There are certainly some targets to be taken out by early bombing missions, but bombing soon becomes a wasted effort. Countries that have been at war for twenty years have had plenty of time to build and reinforce bomb shelters. Another aspect of the bombing which all the reports fail to mention is, by now a large number of the people the bombs are meant for are most likely hiding in the middle of the refugee camps and stealing the food. Although seeing a mad rush by the enemy to surrender to ground troops as happened in the gulf war may be a lot to expect for some people, I would not be a bit surprised. Regardless of the surrender coming sooner or later we are now faced with another of the difficult questions. What do we do with the people who surrender? Before making any decision here, there is another very difficult question to be addressed.  How do we determine that someone actually surrendered? Don't think some simple gesture like throwing down a weapon and raising their hands is a surrender rather than a disguise of the true intentions. It does not take a genius to realize when their side is loosing a battle and it does not even require average intelligence to follow the orders of a leader who orders his armies to pretend to surrender so you will survive to fight another day. There are two options when the battle reaches this point. 1. Take no prisoners. 2. Take the prisoners, provide food, shelter and medical care until some government officials sign a few papers and release the prisoners. At this point I feel confident that the vast majority of people will choose option 2, however I would take option 1. This does not necessarily mean that I am a psychopathic killer of unarmed people. Everyone must live with their decisions and I personally feel it would be easier to live with myself for choosing option 1 than it would be to see my children die because I chose option 2.

Updated rambling October 12

Every day society is being made more aware of the ugly reality of war. At times like this it becomes necessary to point out any bright spot to remind people to not abandon all hope. Amidst the mass hysteria to provide homeland security remains one lone voice in the senate Russ Feingold D-Wi. must be applauded for his reluctance to abolish the bill of rights without thinking about what our government is about to do.

Last night president Bush delivered a speech which was calm, soft, politically correct, condescending and hopefully disguised his true intentions. It is almost impossible for me to believe that anyone could actually think the terrorists can be stopped by using a limited number of ground troops. With regard to statements directed toward Iraq, it might have been more realistic to have said "take some time to hide your chemical and biological weapons along with your true intentions". Seeing news reports about the UN inspectors being told "there is nothing here, come back next month and take a look",  does anyone believe the UN really inspected anything, ever?

Contrary to what is being presented by major news media, I see the U.S. efforts to combat terrorism as a military and political failure. I sincerely do hope you consider that to be an inflammatory statement, and challenge anyone to produce a response which proves me wrong. Shortly after the September 11 attacks virtually every country on earth issued a statement condemning terrorism, however a closer and more realistic look at what any of the self proclaimed islamic nations have actually done reveals a different stance on terrorism. Pakistan and Uzbekistan are worthy of being praised because their actions back up their words. One example of a two faced response comes from Tajikistan who has stated that air corridors may be used (because they have no means to resist) but refuses to permit ground based operations. Perhaps you need me to rephrase their official statement to see the more truthful implied meaning, "we can't stop your planes, but we offer Tajikistan as a safe haven for terrorists driven from Afghanistan". Another glaring example of a nation whose actions do not match their words is Saudi Arabia. In 1991 when the billionaires were afraid that Iraq might take some of their money, U.S. bases were permitted in their country. Ten years later this is not the case. Casualty reports from USAToday (scroll down to Updated map shows global impact of terror attacks) reveal that Saudi Arabia (a major oil producer) had 0 people killed or missing in the attacks on the World Trade Center. Hopefully our leaders are engaged in some deception and I am not the only one who believes this was not a coincidence. There is one bright spot in the reporting that should be noted. The media has stopped broadcasting reports from Al Jazeera, and hopefully the US will put forth an effort to stop the broadcasts entirely. We do not need any whining about freedom of the press. Giving Usama Bin Laden air time amounts to the same type of action as supporting Tokyo Rose during WWII. If anyone is interested in their lousy web site (doesn't display in Netscape) it is located at http://www.aljazeera.net and if any script kiddies read this and want something to practice on try 63.99.208.75. Unfortunately there is not much good news in this update but I will include a few lines which may help educate those readers who do not see the U.S. actions as a military and political failure. Since the bombing began the lack of ground troops has given the enemy 12 days to hide in bomb shelters, refugee camps and across the border to a safe haven. Although there may be some deception involved, the outward appearance of believing those whose words do not match their actions goes a long way toward eroding the confidence anyone has in our leadership.

Updated rambling October 22

The latest news on the battle with terrorism is not good. The recent attacks using anthrax have not been as effective at causing death and injuries on a large scale, but those affected are just as dead or injured. Media coverage seems to be working to the advantage of the terrorists by spreading fear, and the lack of response by the government seems to be inviting disaster. Any novice studying how to respond to a release of hazardous materials knows to apply the acronym known as SWIM, which stands for Stop,Warn,Isolate,Minimize. Thus far the only action taken has been to warn people, about a hundred times per day of any real anthrax infections, suspected substances and all the hoaxes which we don't really need to hear about. The other aspects of a proper response can easily be combined to produce a greatly improved system of preventing further attacks using the postal system. Shut down the postal system. This shutdown does not have to be permanent and postal workers can shift their functions to collecting and having the mail in the system tested for anthrax as well as other chemical and biological agents. Taking a realistic look at what is delivered in your mail, missing out on junk mail and bills will account for at least 90% of what you don't receive for a couple of weeks. When the postal system returns to operation new security measures can be implemented. Simply keep the thousands of anonymous mail drop boxes closed. Mail carriers can pick up the outgoing mail and compare the return address as easily as they ensure the delivery is in the correct mailbox. Users of a post office box can use their key to drop off mail. The use of bulk junk mail can be eliminated, who cares and who needs it. Sending a package will become a hassle, so what, it cannot possibly be as much hassle as receiving that unknown white powder.

Updated rambling October 23

Since September 11 I have lost track of how many times I have heard someone say "the vast majority of muslims are good people who want peace". Assuming this to be true and knowing there are several hundred million muslims, does anyone know why so few have came forward and done anything to prove they oppose the terrorists? Recently there has been a lot of talk about Ramadan and how the U.S. should not be waging war during this time, because it might upset the muslim world. I for one need a explanation of that statement. What is it that would upset them? This vast majority of good holy peace loving people claim to be opposed to terrorism. The terrorists actions are supposedly going against the muslim beliefs by indiscriminate killing, so they obviously can not be expected to respect any holy day and not use the time to plan or execute more attacks.
Near the beginning of this page I wrote about drawing lines, so where does anyone want to draw the line between free speech, peaceful protest and treason? There is a lot of opposition to any type of ethnic profiling. What a ridiculous concept that is. Perhaps one of the over zealous do gooders will explain why we should not investigate the people who have so many things in common with the known terrorists. Although I was unable to confirm one report which I heard, there is still good reason to credit China or the person who made up the rumor. The report said that China has revoked the visas of all middle eastern people and will have them deported and will not allow any entry to their country during the efforts to stop terrorism. The INS needs to adopt this excellent policy. After all the overwhelming majority of muslims are good peace loving people, who surely will understand how this action will allow them to return home and assist their country in stopping the terrorists. After the war is over we can return to using a system which will still allow peaceful people to travel freely to other countries.

Updated rambling November 2

Being the perpetual optimist, I found it rather difficult to find the bright spot and any good news to report about the war on terrorism. After hours of searching I did find a reason to retain some hope for our situation. The spot lies hidden in memory rather than in any recent broadcasts or publications. The U.S. government has a history of lying to the news media and the news media has a history of lying to the public. Although it may be very difficult for most people to perceive lies as being a bright spot, what else do we have? The lack of ground troops remains a military failure. The continued use of the anonymous drop boxes have enabled the spread of anthrax to other states and countries. It is rather unlikely that anyone can provide any evidence that these two statements are false. Al Jazeera has been joined by the major news services in broadcasting the propaganda of the terrorists. Before you start whining about freedom of the press, please explain why none of these reports are ever presenting the facts about how many terrorists are hiding in the refugee camps, hospitals and mosques. Official statements have been loaded with displays of some flawed thinking. Take for example this statement "we have no evidence which links the spread of anthrax to the attacks on the world trade center or pentagon". Can our leaders actually be that stupid? When we are at war, and attacked who could have done it besides the enemy? Perhaps it is time for these official to make a statement such as "we have no evidence that the attacks were not done by the enemy". Cutting off the flow of money has been described as a major part of the war and some accounts have been frozen without much protest by any innocent account holders. Considering the fact that Swiss accounts have long been the proven means to hide money (usually to avoid taxes) and also transfer the funds to terrorists, I for one do not see  this report as being an accident or coincidence. Surely our leaders must have some agenda that is not being broadcast to the enemy and many people should rest easier when they realize it. By now it should be easy to label me as paranoid and perhaps I am, however the events of September 11 and the anthrax in the mailbox are evidence that they are out to get us.

Updated rambling November 13

It has been 11 days since my last update here, partially because there was not much to update and partially because I was busy puking each time I was reminded of what a group of low lifes we have running the US government and the major news media.

President Bush recently presented a well written speech outlining some of the war efforts, inspiring patriotism, and continuing his policy of being a low life by calling on children to donate $1.00 while allowing his friends of the defense industry to rake in $Billions by their unmitigated profiteering on the events of September 11. Label me as heartless and sadistical, but I would call on the owners and executives to subject themselves to the torture of living on a lousy $1million per year.

Recent reports say that Northern Alliance troops have captured many key areas in the continuing battle. Three cheers for The Northern Alliance! Three thousand Boos for the government and media spokespeople. These are our allies, fighting a common enemy. They take the place of American troops on the front lines. I for one need some evidence as to why these people are good enough to be wounded or killed but not good enough to run their own government. Until the other tribes step forward and provide the same type of sacrifice, let them take orders from our allies.

Stupidity strikes on yet another front. Intelligence reports confirm that known hijackers met with officials from Iraq. Remember Iraq, the country where the first president Bush publicly humiliated Sadaam Husein, then allowed him to remain in power while defying the UN inspection agreement that he signed. Throw in some periodic bombing by US planes and we can easily see how our leadership got this one backwards. Those meetings were not to discuss young Abdullah Abdullah's birthday party. Given all the reasons these people have to not like the US, our leaders, should be looking for some evidence that Iraq was not involved in September 11.

Updated rambling November 20

Recent advances by the Northern Alliance appear to be significant in removing the Taliban from power and changing the living conditions for the people of Afghanistan, however does this change bring any significant improvement in the overall war on terrorism? Reports of these people defending a few strongholds and hiding in caves waiting to be surrounded and killed do not make much sense. Given the fact that Iran shares hundreds of miles of a common border and publicly declared their country's support for terrorists, why would anyone sit in a cave waiting to die? Usamma Bin Laden can easily see that his main concern has to be the $25million reward, which will eventually motivate one or more of his followers to go for the money. The idea that he is sitting in an Afghani cave waiting for that to happen is totally ridiculous. Given the fact that terror groups are motivated by group insanity and brainwashing since childhood it is unlikely that eliminating Bin Laden will not stop the terrorism, in fact it is more likely that these drones will declare him a martyr. The only scenario I can imagine that would be at all beneficial is the one where I personally collect the reward. President Bush made a strong statement early on about nations who harbor terrorists, too bad he has not done anything to back up his words. The more time spent on political babble about who might be offended by action to eliminate the safe havens, the longer the terrorists and their protectors have to hide and prepare strategy for future attacks and deceptions designed to safeguard their own interests.

The US government did take a step in the right direction with the passage of an airline security bill which will be using federal employees instead of the more costly private contractors who always gouge huge profits from the taxpayers on any government contracts. Will our elected officials ever put an end to the excess profits of the defense contractors? Or will our elected officials continue the present system which leads to the one and only logical reason that I can see for this excess spending?Elected officials are bribed to provide billions for the billionaires. Yes that is a very strong statement and I stand behind it and challenge anyone to provide evidence that it is not true. Prior to the passage of the airline security measure, many of the money seeking low lifes attempted to put forth the ludicrous argument about federal employees being hard to discipline. Over twenty years ago former president Reagan proved that federal employees could be fired for engaging in union activities thought to be protected by labor laws, yet these people would have us believe they could not be disciplined for poor performance. The government got one right by using federal employees, but there is still an uphill battle to apply this principle to all aspects of the present system of profits and bribery.

Updated rambling November 27

Latest reports say there are now some 1500 US Marines in Afghanistan with more on the way. Old time farmers had a phrase to describe things of this nature. Closing the barn door after the horse is gone.  Given over two months since September 11, can anyone be stupid enough to think the people we are after would actually sit there and wait to be captured or killed? It does not even take average intelligence to put yourself in the enemy's position and figure out if anyone would do that. It seems that the only hope for victory lies in the belief that President Bush has a hidden agenda rather than the display of stupidity being presented to the public.

Politicians and alleged journalists continue to waste a lot of time talking about a post war coalition government. Amidst the long winded speeches these people have yet to provide even one reason as to why the Northern Alliance was good enough to risk their lives , but not good enough to run the new government. These blowhards have also overlooked the fact that the people who sat back and did nothing except take orders from the Taliban are only capable of sitting back and taking orders from whoever is in charge.

We do have some positive results from the creation of the new cabinet post, Director of Homeland Security. 1. The people of Pennsylvania no longer have the self serving puppet of the wealthy Tom Ridge as their governor. 2. There has been some concern shown to the potential for terrorists to use biological agents. Since the nations in Europe solved this problem some 30 years ago by irradiating much of the food supply, the US may have to adopt this method in spite of the ignorance of the public and the stupidity of the news media and government officials.

I was right, the military leaders were wrong. At the cost of many lives and many more wounded Northern Alliance forces have regained control of the Qalai Janghi fortress. No apology and no politically correct whining, simply read my previous writing  here and face the facts.

Updated rambling December 6

The recent capture of former American John Walker has sparked another onslaught of stupidity by the news media. Every network has broadcast the opinions of some self serving lawyer providing their long version of senseless babbling about his rights, however this collection of publicity seekers have all failed to address the original right exercised by Mr. Walker. That was his right to leave. Having taken that option Mr. Walker now has the right to be tried by a military tribunal, or the right to enjoy the hospitality provided in a Northern Alliance prison.

Recent reports about the attacks on Israel and the response to these attacks have me wondering if the world is being run by people who are blind or stupid. The word terrorist has been over used to describe the conflict between Israel and The Palestinians. This battle has been going on since the beginning of recorded history and the people who lack the billions of dollars to use jet fighters and helicopters and not terrorists because they deliver their bombs in a car or a suitcase. The latest bombings were delivered by brainwashed wackos who are terrorists. Leaders on both sides have failed to recognize the actions of Bin Laden and friends. Leaders on both sides need to wake up and realize this was an attempt to turn the war on terrorism into a war of Muslims against the world.

Tom Ridge has issued another totally useless statement about being on high alert. Closer analysis may prove the statement to be not quite so useless. These statements do keep the public interest focused on supporting almost anything proposed in Washington. Unfortunately the public fails to see the hidden agenda whereby the government allocates billions of dollars to increase the profit margins of those profiteering on the events of September11 and the increasing use of Gestapo tactics to eliminate the limited rights the gullible majority thinks they still have.

Updated rambling December 27

I haven't updated here lately, mainly because the status of the war on terrorism remains nearly the same as my last posting. We do have the Bin Laden tapes, one released by the US with captions and another from the Bin Laden supporters of Al Jazeera.  It is extremely difficult for me to believe either of these propaganda shows. First we saw the version that was supposedly made by the religious fanatics who are forbidden to make a tape without facing the wrath of Allah and their own clerics for engaging in the use of machines created by the infidels, and edited by the U.S. Next we have the Bin Laden version, presented by his own infidel broadcast network. It seems as though the leaders on both sides see the general public as gullible morons. President Bush once made a statement saying "you are with us or against us" apparently the Al Jazeera Bin Laden broadcast network is with us in some secret way , since Mr. Bush has taken absolutely no action against these people who have publicly proclaimed to support Bin Laden's efforts and quite obviously proclaim to know his whereabouts.

We had some reports on Bin Laden being surrounded, being dead, escaping across several borders and ordering his own death. Perhaps some of the Al qaieda network was damaged, however, lets take a look at reality. We should not underestimate someone capable of engineering the attacks of September 11. Given the four weeks between the attacks and the start of the action in Afghanistan, it is extremely hard for me to believe this person and the leadership of his organization would simply wait to be killed or captured. The reality check tells me that these people were long gone before the first bomb fell. The question we must ask ourselves is "will their whereabouts be discovered and attacked before the next major attack"? Do not be too quick to answer that question and keep in mind that the longer this war lasts the more profits the defense contractor friends of the people in Washington will make at the expense of all of us.

Updated rambling January 9

Latest news reports tell us that Bin Laden and Taliban leaders may have left Afghanistan and taken a lot of money with them, the US is looking for some 6000 aliens to deport for breaking laws related to their visas, and the first US casualty may have been killed by a 14 yr old. Anyone who has read this page should easily see that I take no real pleasure in saying"I was right, George Bush and friends were wrong". Being the eternal skeptic perhaps they were right, but forgot to mention the agenda of prolonging the war in order to funnel more money to their defense contractor cronies.

Updated rambling January 22

It has been thirteen days since an update here, and for the superstitious that is a perfect number. President Bush has managed to drive the war on terror further into the world of military and political failure. Government officials have admitted that they have have no idea where Usama Bin Laden or Taliban leaders might be hiding. Not much of a surprise considering the four weeks of talking between September 11 and the start of the bombing. Did Mr. Bush really expect these people to sit in a cave and wait to be killed?  Now that the US does have a few token prisoners in Cuba, the political disaster takes center stage. The British press was the first to start whining about their treatment and now the terrorist rights groups in the US  have joined in. It appears as though the British press corps never studied history or perhaps they would remember what happened in the 1940s and who it was that prevented them from becoming the royal and ancient subjects of Adolph Hitler. Along with their US counterparts they have some distorted idea that they should be talking about The Geneva Convention. It's time to get a clue here people, the Geneva Convention drew up a set of rules, rules written by a group of spectators who get to travel to Geneva and have conventions. Needless to say this set of rules are drastically different from what they might be had they been written by the people who had pleasure of daily gunfights, and got to sign the treaty using their opposite hand because their good hand was left behind in the battlefield. The only hint of success appears to be with the hidden agenda. The agenda which says the longer the war goes on, the more profiteering on the events of September 11 by the kick back defense contractors and the more opportunity for the Gestapo to legislate away any trace of the bill of rights still in existence.

Updated rambling February 18

The last update here was January 22 which is almost as long as the time period between September 11 and the start of any bombing. Now imagine yourself sitting in a cave for that long waiting for someone to come along and try to kill you.Do you really think anyone would do that? The news reports have finally admitted that our blundering leaders have no idea where Bin Laden or any of his top level leaders are. What they have not admitted is that anyone who seriously wanted to kill or capture an enemy would not give them the opportunity to play hide and seek for a month. So far the anti terrorist effort has managed to overthrow the Taliban and almost replace it, but when it comes to dismantling any terrorist network there doesn't seem to be a shred of evidence that thousands of this enemy have been stopped. We have seen some spending bills rushed through without any analysis of why they need to include the $20 million per year salaries of the executive cronies of the thieves spending our tax money. Security for air travel has been somewhat improved, however it has came with a very high price. Thanks to the mindless politically correct whiners people have come to accept the fact that a woman with a baby in one arm and a diaper bag in the other should be checked to ensure she is not a suicide bomber. There also seems to be a widespread acceptance of the eight year old being patted down if they want to attend a sporting event. What a concept that is. Now will the gestapo move on and expect us all to be searched before entering a mall, or a grocery store or our own vehicle or bathroom or bedroom?? I hope not and pray that the public will wake up to the fact that these violations of our rights have yet to result in the capture of even one confirmed member of the Al Quida network. The enemy is still operating from unknown locations. As I stated earlier George Bush has proven himself capable of leading a military disaster. The real question is, will public stupidity allow this fiasco to continue or wake up and make it a political disaster?

Updated rambling March 21

It has been just over a month since there has been an update here. Mainly because not much has changed. The car bomb in front of the US embassy is a good indication that the terror organization is still operating. Reports from Afghanistan have the US forces searching the hideouts and finding lots of weapons but very few people. These reports are all lacking one thing which is very puzzling to me, but has not been mentioned in any of the news media. Why did Al Quida abandon their weapons without using booby traps? Surely the wackos who commit suicide in a crowd of strangers can not be morally opposed to booby traps. Homeland security appears to be proceeding as I predicted several months ago. The public is accepting the erosion of the rights which the terrorists would take away. The ridiculous policy of pandering to the politically correct has people going along with the searching of any eight year old attending a sporting event and thinking it is OK to act like the woman with a baby in one arm and a diaper bag in the other is about to blow the child to bits in order to take a few Americans with her. Am I the only one who questions this type of insanity? Tom Ridge is up to his old tricks. Refusing to keep congress informed of exactly what his plans for homeland security may be. Since I was able to obtain the information, perhaps there are some people in congress or the major media who will ask for a disclosure of which companies are bidding for the government security contracts and exactly what financial interests Mr. Ridge or his family have in these companies.  We have heard a lot of whining from the terrorist's supporters about the prisoners being held in Cuba. Perhaps I can provide a little insight into the question of why Cuba and who is behind this whole scenario. Fidel Castro has been in power for over forty years and in an area which has a tradition of shooting corrupt government officials. We are long overdue in acknowledging the fact that Mr. Casto must be doing something right. One of the things he did was to nationalize the operations which were increasing the wealth of wealthy Americans who were exploiting the Cuban people. These same wealthy Americans are still wealthy and able to pay for their lust for revenge being included in what is described as US foreign policy. Considering the mindless blind faith being displayed by the majority in this country, any attempt to help the prisoners escape might be used as an excuse to overthrow the government in Cuba and return the plantations and resorts to those who hold a grudge for forty years. If anyone is upset by my comments, good. I hope you are upset enough to get some answers from the people making the decisions on where your tax money goes when it is being used to fight terrorism.
