Library of Congress Good information source for paper publications, needs serious updating to include web publication and information on books banned in the USA. Green Eggs Report This site provides more information on web publication than the library of congress, unfortunately it includes a lot of the worthless things people publish on the web. Heartless Bitches Great site for online humor, does a lot of male bashing, however it also bashes some of the females who make you want to puke. Rumor Control Good site to verify if what you heard is true, also some tips to prevent you from being a victim of all the internet scams. Echelon This site should upset anyone when finding out just how deep the system Big Brother uses to spy on us goes. Make a Web Page This site allows you to type in some information and generates a humorous web page to make fun of your friends. Netiquette An old site but still good reading for newbies and all those idiots on your ignore lists. AOL Tips A must see site for AOL users, former users, and potential AOL users. Terra Server Interactive site shows satellite views of much of the earth, the images are old but it does provide some amazing photos taken of your house by the USA and the Russians. Try to imagine how much more is in those databases which has not been released to the public. Hubble Telescope Pictures of space objects taken by Hubble, it is hard to tell the things in a sci fi movie from the real thing. I wonder what kind of close up shots that thing takes of earth. Free Web Space This site lists what they call the top 100 providers for free web space. Human Rights Find your local chapter and join in protecting our rights. Blue Mountain One of many online greeting card sites. I like this one best. Searchlores Also known as +Fravia's site, lots of good information but written for computer geeks, go back when bored there is a lot to learn here. The old +Fravia site was better find an old mirror here . Harry Potter The unofficial Harry Potter fan club site. Good for kids. Star Gazer Nice site about astronomy, the official site of the stargazer seen on PBS stations. Adult Jokes The title says it all for this one. Grimm Brothers Good site for kids, sponsored by National Geographic. Moon Phases Interactive site, lets you display the moon phase for the date you pick, from the 1800s to the 2100s, a .mil site from the US Navy. Win Mag Gone The popular Win Mag site is gone, this link will get you to the information on the author's personal sites which are still around. I Q Test Don't take this or the ones they give in schools too seriously. Speed Tests Links to about 200 sites which test your internet connection speed. Popular This site has been the most popular on the web for a
long time, visit it often.
That's enough links to entertain you for a while. There's always the search engines if you want more and I would appreciate it if anyone can find me a good one. By good I mean a search engine that returns results without pop up or banner spam and doesn't include a link to find free web anything by searching the commercial crapola sites like Amazon and E-bay. Sorry to report but the once wonderful alternative to TV is turning into an extension of TV. I wish these people would stick e-commerce up their e-ass. |
