It is important that al least some scientists ask this question: "If our pre-scientific intuitions are correct, and there is anything in our universe even remotely like a non-physical or even eternal human soul, then what objective evidence for it can we find? Carl Sagan had the courage to ask this question, "If there were a creator of our universe, then what objective evidence for such a creator might we hope to find?" Carl was reviled by many conservative scientists for asking such questions, but I agree with Carl that these kinds of questions are important, if only for allowing science and non-scientific elements of human society to come together in common human endeavors and mutual understanding. Besides, it is a whole lot of fun to spin wild theories about how some strange type of quantum physics could explain human souls.

Here is an outline of my current fantasy......there are multiple 4D (three extended spatial dimensions, one temporal dimension) universes like our own that are linked through a common spatially "collapsed" set of dimensions. I'll accept what ever total number of dimensions a GUT requires, 10, 11, whatever. I imagine that the 6 or so "collapsed" dimensions constitute a common nexus (call it the S-nexus) between all of the various distinct 4D universes.

I imagine that there is a special class of fundamental particles (call these S-particles) that are able to carry information between the various 4D universes, allowing for a type of coordination between them. In particular, each material object in any one specific 4D universe has associated with it a swarm of S-particles which can interact with other similar swarms within the S-nexus. Interestingly, space and time are meaningless within the S-nexus. There, all that matters is the "shape" of the various swarms of S-particles, each of which corresponds to a particular material object at some temporal and spatial location in its particular 4D universe.

What is important is the types of interactions which are possible between the swarms of S-particles within the S-nexus and the effects of those interactions on their associated material objects back in the various 4D universes. What I imagine (and this is all pure bull shit, only designed to make things interesting) is that the physics of the S-nexus are such that similar swarms of S-particles specifically interact in the S-nexus and alter each other. These alterations S-particle swarms can then influence quantum events back in the 4D spacetimes.

I imagine that human brains have evolved to allow a rudimentary exchange of information through the S-nexus which can provide individual human brains some of their "intuitions" about distant events in space and time. We can even propose that sufficiently complex and adaptive S-particle swarms can be coherent within the S-nexus independent of their associated 4D material objects, allowing S-particle swarms to outlive a human and function as an "immortal soul" that could even transmigrate to associate with another human brain.

I imagine that it is possible to develop a science of these S-nexus interactions which would allow for improvement in the efficiency of S-nexus information flow beyond what brains have evolved through natural selection. Such a technology could be used to explore the alternate 4D universes that link through the common S-nexus with our own. We can imagine a type of information trade between alternate universes.
