Start date: 16 July 2001
End date: 15 August 2001
Type of match: Action pistol
Target: See below
Range: 3 meters
Caliber: Any
Position: Any, one hand only, no rests
Sights: Open
Shots: 3
Special equipment: Briefcase or shoebox or something similar, stopwatch

For this match you'll use the 3 ring target. It doesn't matter whether you hang the target horizontally or vertically, as long as an edge of the target is parallel to the ground (I want the circles to be at different elevations).

Starting position: Place the gun in the briefcase or box, 3 meters from the target. You can leave the latches undone if you're using a breifcase. Start facing away from the target, briefcase at your back, hands on your head, stopwatch in your off hand.

Start the stopwatch, then turn, open the breifcase and grab the gun using only your shooting hand. Fire two shots at each circle on the target (one hand only!) STARTING WITH THE HIGHEST, and going down. Stop the stopwatch after the last shot. Do not cross the 3 meter line while shooting.

Record the time for the run, adding 2 seconds penalty for each missed shot. Run through 5 times, and submit the average time.

Equipment used : 8-Shot Walther w/ H&N Match Pellets I managed to play only one round because my one miss flew over the target and hit the wooden slat on the folding-door, causing a nice hole that I needed to quickly paint before my girlfriend came home.

Equipment used : Crosman 1008 DAO conversion, Crosman Supermatch wadcutters. A whopping 6 misses this time, but the times were much faster than cocking the 357 each shot. Best time a 7.62. Used remainder of 12 gram to take out my frustrations on cicadas and horseflys o
