Per Blalock, Isselstynes and "Orchie" lived in the Sourland Mountain District, near Blaawsburg NJ.
Abraham Compton, per DAR b. ca. 1747 NJ, Served in the Continental Army as a private, d. 1779 VA--killed in Revolutionary War, m. Mary Compton. His genealogy also continues on and parallels this one into Southwest Virginia, principally Russell and Scott Counties. Mary remarried John Brickey after Abraham's death (Blalock). John Compton Brickey (a son?) is reportedly the author of an authoritative Compton genealogy which I am attempting to locate. See Comptonology, V. 3, No. 9, p. 121.
Compare Comptonology, V. 4, No. 10, p. 199: Cites Hickman in the line between John I and John III. See also Comptonology, V. 3, No. 1, p. 68, for a Hickman b. 1770, but this may be separate John and Hickman from Maryland.
A possibility, See Blalock, p. 3.
