2. William II Compton (William I ) was born about 1645 in Gravesend, NY. He died 1709 in Middletown, Monmouth Co. NJ.

William married Mary Bowne, daughter of Captain Wiiliam Bowne and Mary Haverland.
They had the following children:
+ 3 M i Richard , Sr. Compton was born Dec 1673 and died about 1710. 4 F ii Judith Compton was born 1666. Judith married Unknown Devell on 11 Jun 1689 in Essex Co. NJ.[Notes] 5 M iii Cornelius Sr. Compton was born about 1669. He died 1750 in Monmouth Co., NJ. Cornelius married Unknown Stout about 1694. 6 M iv Jacob Compton was born about 1681.
