INFO ON Alpha DoG!

Just some info on AD.

My name is David T. and I'm a 21 year old from Altoona, PA and I like anything that plugs into an electrical outlet (or takes batteries).

I am a student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and I have lot's of hobbies.

  1. COMPUTERS

  2. I have always been a fan of technology since the day when the ol' C-64 made the world go 'round. I now have an Amiga A-1200 computer loaded W/ a 220Mb HD,68020 processor running at a whopping 14 MHz with 2 (count 'em) 2M chip ram and 0 fast. WOW! Don't get the wrong idea. Amiga's are the most efficient computers around and the technology was far ahead of it's time, I just need to upgrade really bad! However, It has proven to be a very productive computer (see below). It's slow, it has little ram but, it has the AGA chip set. That's 6.8 million colors on a super-hi resolution + laced screen. Check out my links for more info on Amiga.

  3. COMPUTER MUSIC

  4. I compose music under the name Alpha DoG using OctaMED6.0 and lots of cool gear! My style? It's sometimes called TECHNO or ACID music. I think the proper term would be MINIMALIST or MINIMALISTIC MUSIC. The Rave culture puts it under ACID. The Rock n' rollers call it crap. Whatever, it's all electronic/computer music. For sound clips of my music, please see my Alpha Samples.

  5. ART+ANIMATION

  6. I also do a lot of graphic work. I took 2 classes in ESA (Electronic Studio Arts) along with 3 years of Commercial Art plus IET/MBSD (Introduction to Emerging Technologies Multimedia Based Software Development) for a year. BTW- I'm not trying to sound super intellectual, that's just what the school named that course. I am currently the Graphics Coordinator for the Enterprise BBS. I also worked at a local public access studio as Graphics Coordinator/camera person. I do 2D+3D animation and three dimensional modeling. This is what I am currently going to school for. For some examples of what I do, go to Alpha PICs.

  7. PROGRAMMING

  8. I also dabble in programing. Just basic development software languages so far. I have created a fractal program along with other eye-candy, a space shoot-em-up, and some other MISC. Oh, and you can't forget the Beat Me Elmo game. I'm currently working on a fighting game like SF,MK,KI.

  9. ELECTRONICS

  10. Yes, I tinker with electronics also. This usually involves a state of mind and/or style of logical thinking that goes hand in hand with programming, less the binary approach of computing. I usually work within the analog spectrum of electronics. I have added a single Op-Amp swooth to pulse wave converter for my PAIA FatMan along with per note glide and accents (like the notorious Roland TB-303 Bass Line), oscillator sync, resonance boost and some other bells n' whistles. Along with it's 12 dB per Oct and MODs It's the best 303 emulator. Please see my SAMPLES page. I also made a simple Gate to S-Trig converter for my Moog. Again, more MISC.

  11. GENERAL MUSIC

  12. I also have about 9 years experience playing drums. I played for a band called Delirium in Altoona and the nearby surrounding areas. Musical differences left me searching for musicians that are into a fast funky sound with some jazz accent (know any?). I also took lessons for reading and writing drum music. Check out some of my GEAR.

  13. CHESS

  14. I love Chess. I have read some books on it and I'll play anybody. I am currently in a tournament at the local cafe because I like competition. however, I'm content with casual games too. I'm not exactly ready for Deep Blue.

  15. VIDEO GAMES

  16. I am the Undefeated First Place Champion of both STREET FIGHTER II tournaments. Hey, if I'm gonna' boast I'll do it here.

  17. MISC.

  18. I'm drug free. I collect toy robots. I like animals (dogs, chickens, rabbits...).

More to come as I think of them. Thanks for reading.
