Spring Break Plans

The Road Trip. One of the best perks and rights of passage of College known to Bob.. (aside from being far, far away from the parental units and making salsa a part of the food group)

This years trip?
As Kat so eloquently put it to me; "GrandCanyon or Bust!!!!!" Now..I have no clue *why* she picked the GrandCanyon as our final destination for this trip, or *why* I'm going along with it, but *shrug* It should be fun anyways ;P
Basically, The trip will consist of Me, Kat, and Anna (BadAssMammaJamma!), my parents 1985 Toyota Van [P.O.S], No money to speak of, and whatever food Anna supplies. All on a trip consisting of roughly 1,200 miles.
Sounds like fun, eh? =)
I thought so.. My Parents (being the vile pieces of scum that they are) *waves at Mom* On the other hand, think (and have, of course expressed their feelings to me on countless occasions; When will they learn that I don't really care?) that this is quite possibly the worst idea I've ever had. Surely they havn't forgotten the time Kat and I tried to dig a jacuzzi in the front yard for my Mom's birthday! =P Just because no one in our lil group has enough money to split a Whopper at BurgerKing, let alone pay for gas/food/lodging for a week and a half trip, Doesn't mean that it's a bad idea!

That's where the Parental Credit Card *fanfare* comes in.. >)

Wow, amazingly enuff, it's zactly 1 month after I wrote all that ^^ stuff up there. Freaky. Anyways, I thought I'd share with you some of the finer points of the trip (from hell) That I'm sure are going to be things that someday in the VERY far future, i'll sit back and laugh about.. Hope so anyways..
Well.. Hmm.. where to start.. Oh yes..
The first night of our trips to end ALL trips, we decided to camp at McGrath state beach in Ventura, CA. I'd say it's a lovely place.. but we got there when it was pitch dark.. had to *try* to set up Kat's tent (which she had assured me she remembered how to put up) by the light of the van's headlights. We also tried to light the lantern. It Didn't work. Neither did the whole fire building experience. So, while I slept in the van itself, Kat and Anna were in the 2man popup tent outside.
Of course, It rained.
The second day pretty much went Okie, aside from picking up SeoHui (who Kat invited to come along with us), and him running over a curb.. Now.. when I say run over a curb.. it wasn't just a little bump.. Swear, i think he took out a freakin mailbox while goin over it. Maybe a parked car as well.
Finally on the 3rd day, we arrived in Arizona.. now.. i'm not going to tell you the incredibly stupid thing that I, myself, did whilst in that particular state, but lets just say it involved a 30 mile round trip back to a gas station.
We were all amazed to see snow on the ground in AZ, figureing Arizona.. desert.. cacti.. shrubs.. you know, the whole 9 yards. What we absolutely DIDN'T expect was for there to be six inches of snow on the ground at the GrandCanyon itself. My three Dumbass friends (yes, I am calling you guys dumbasses, I nearly became a TanyaSicle for BobSake!) Still wanted to go camping.. after all "we came all this way to camp in the canyon! Who gives a fuck if it's snowing!?" So, 50 bux and a snow shovel later, we were clearing off a campsite, which took us all of about 2 hrs. I'm telling you right now, I've never been so cold in my entire life. I could never live anywhere that it snowed, i'd go postal long before that would ever happen. =P
Anyways.. long story short.. we didn't die.. we ate dinner in the bathroom of the campground.. (we came to love that bathroom, it was heated.) we didn't sleep at ALL during the night cause of the cold, and we found out how much of a cityboy Seohui is. He used an entire thing of lighter fluid to start a fire while we were packing up the tent and stuff, I couldn't believe it.
The next few days we spent going thru Utah (never go there).. while going there.. Anna got pulled over and got let off with a warning *snicker*.. and Las Vegas (i'm goin back when i'm 21, swear), then back to Cali. All in all we drove 2,250 miles, ate bout 30 poptarts, half a bucket of redvines, and almost a case of coke.
Someone shoot me if I ever go back to AZ again, k? =P
