The Discovery Project was a well-publicized "bio-medical" research project that won wide-ranging acclaim in both the national and international communities of the 1 960's ("Eyes").

On August 18, 1960, Discover 14 was launched. On board the rocket booster that day was the world's first reconnaissance satellite code-named "Corona". The satellite made 17 orbits around the earth. After making 7 passes over "denied" territory "Corona" unobtrusively dropped its payload of exposed film This event instantly became a significant historical threshold ("Eyes"). Information gathering, processing, and manipulating were about to change forever.
