We The People Stand Up and Take Action
How To End Terrorism and Corruption

"U.S. support for almost any ruler [often against the wishes of his people] willing to protect U.S. interests, routinely identified in Washington as oil and Israel (the rich and powerful)... It is dangerous to divorce terrorism from politics, yet the U.S. media continue to talk about an abstract war against terrorism without mention of the issues or context that lie behind them. ... Democratization "is not on the American agenda" in the Middle East. The reason? Because Washington finds it more efficient to support a range of dictators across the Arab world as long as they conform to U.S. foreign policy needs (to hell with their democracy)."- Graham E. Fuller former CIA 8/24/98 [1][2][3]

Bankers, professionals, international lawyers in the Middle East were surveyed by The Wall Street Journal and they say `we hate you because you are blocking democracy, you are preventing economic development, you are supporting brutal regimes, terrorist regimes and you are doing these horrible things in the region.' Power brokers do talk about the underlying reasons among themselves and openly. It appeared in the Wall Street Journal.[8]

We freed ourselves from the King of England but the U.S. supports kings and rulers in the Middle East because the rich and powerful who dictate U.S.'s foriegn policies don't give a damn about about the common man.

People in the Middle East are very angry at the United States because of its support of authoritarian and brutal regimes; its intervention to block any move towards democracy; its intervention to stop economic development; its policies of devastating the civilian societies of Iraq while strengthening Saddam Hussein; and they remember, even if we prefer not to, that the United States and Britain supported Saddam Hussein right through his worst atrocities, including the gassing of the Kurds, bin Laden brings that up constantly, and they know it even if we don’t want to. And of course their ( United States and Britain) support for the Israeli military occupation which is harsh and brutal. It is now in its 35th year. The US has been providing the overwhelming economic, military, and diplomatic support for it (Israel), and still does. And they know that and they don't like it. Especially when that is paired with US policy towards Iraq, towards the Iraqi civilian society which is getting destroyed. Ok, those are the reasons roughly.[4] And when bin Laden gives those reasons, people recognize it and support it. These real grievances are what bin Laden uses to gain wider support in the region.

Don’t buy into the bullshit that looking at the motives is to “side with the terrorists”! That is what the powerplayers want you to think so they can continue with business as usual. If Americans knew about these policies they would not condone them, that is why the networks don’t report it. They know that to keep it off of TV is to keep most Americans in the dark. Network News imposes their slant and their censor, they are and they serve the wealthy and influential, not you and me. Big Media hides the power grabs of Big Money.

James Madison's concern in 1791 that, "The stock-jobbers will become the pretorian band of the Government, at once its tool & its tyrant; bribed by its largesses, & overawing it by clamours & combinations" sounds very similar to contemporary concerns regarding special interests and their role in government policy making.

Contrary to what U.S. Media tell us, U.S. foreign policy doesn't reflect the kind, and charitable nature of the average American.
"The Western regimes and the government of the US bear the blame for what might happen. If their people do not wish to be harmed inside their very own countries, they should seek to elect governments that are truly representative of them and that can protect their interests." - bin Laden (our media doesn't want you to think about this, that is why bin Laden's speeches are censored here in America {both then and now}) bin Laden states that rich and powerful in the West, "rip us of our wealth and of our resources and of our oil."[5]

This is no war over values; it is about American failure to share with others those beliefs that helped to make this country great. Where is our vision? There will always be a handful who hate us for their own extremist reasons, but when we help prop up the entrenched bad governance across the Middle East, it is the extremists who reap the discontent.[3]

Graham E. Fuller explains,"Sure, oil matters, but every anti-American dictator in the region has always sold it with pleasure. Of course Israel's security must be preserved, but that doesn't give it carte blanche to perpetuate three decades of harsh occupation of the West Bank. Washington views democratization as too "soft" a goal--messy and inconvenient, yet its absence is the root cause of most problems and ultimately the pressure cooker of rage against the U.S. itself. The U.S. needs to stand firm for its own values and help extend them to the Muslim world, even if entrenched and unpleasant regimes don't like it. Such a gesture by Washington would bring a sea change in the way Muslims view the U.S."[3]

Like the Ministry of Truth in George Orwell's dystopian novel 1984, corporate-owned, mainstream media in North America know that altering the historical record in defense of U.S. policy is most effective when the public is kept in the dark concerning the entire historical context involved.

If people never learn how conflicts began, how they are maintained, whose interests they serve, and what is actually happening to the people involved there is little chance that they'll question the pronouncements of the U.S. media or the U.S. government as they systematically distort and suppress information.

I Want YOU To Know the Truth

Today, too many Americans blindly trust rich corporate power brokers. These people are the ones that throw a few thousand dollars at a politician who then does their bidding so he or she can get more campaign contributions. What is the largest amount of money you could afford to give to a politician? The foreign policies in the Middle East are written by people who want to serve the power in America (these people are not worried about fair treatment of foreigners)

All of which indicates that the American people are going to have to pay more attention to our foreign policy. Those who are currently running the show will not necessarily put our now very real security concerns ahead of their own global ambitions. If we are not careful, they could take us down a path of escalating violence and retaliation.

A mood of resentment toward America and its behavior around the world has become so commonplace in their countries that it was bound to breed hostility, and even hatred. And the buttons that Mr. bin Laden pushes in his statements and interviews - the injustice done to the Palestinians, the cruelty of continued sanctions against Iraq, the presence of US troops in Saudi Arabia, the repressive and corrupt nature of US-backed Gulf governments - win a good deal of popular sympathy.[6]

bin Laden's statements were censored so Americans would not keep thinking about the whole situation, anyone who actually believes that the reason American TV was told not to show bin Ladens's video is because of "secret messages" is in denial. Look at the self censoring - because the TV reporters know who pays their salieries - Big Corporations.

DonationThe U.S. decision-makers are funded and controlled by special interests and the general public is kept in the dark by a media that serves the interests of the rich and powerful. The Carter administration initiated the policy of arming and training the fundamentalist pawns on what his national security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski referred as "the great chessboard" in Afghanistan, feeding a war that has cost an estimated1.5 million lives. This is not counting those lost in the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, whose deaths may turn out to be a direct, rather than simply an indirect, continuation of this very "game" -- since it soon included the arming and training of Osama bin Laden himself. The Afghan people, as journalist James Ingalls wrote, are "no strangers to the terrorism of bin Laden and his friends," thanks in part to Carter and subsequent administrations, but that won't save them from becoming the main targets of American retaliation.

U.S. foreign policy invites "terrorism"
To end it we must end policies that create it.-
Charley Reese

Charley Reese, self-described "ex-soldier," now a columnist for the Orlando Sentinel writes, "Terrorism is a political act, a response to U.S. foreign policy. It is an act of war waged by people too weak to havea conventional army or one large enough to take on the United States."[7]

Fuller and Reese identify the realities of U.S. foreign policy, Muslim perceptions, and media obfuscation that serve to perpetuate the cycle of violence. While Muslims are virtually excluded from high-level policy making and media, "Jewish Americans," says Fuller, "occupy nearly every single senior position relating to U.S. Arab-Israeli policy." Reese says, "The one-sided support of Israel, even when Israel is clearly an aggressor or an abuser of human rights, creates enemies. When your wife and children are killed with U.S. weapons wielded by a government backed by the United States and protected from U.N. sanctions by the UnitedStates, it doesn't sit too well. Contrary to what U.S. media tell us, U.S. foreign policy doesn't reflect the kind, and charitable nature of the average American."[2]

"Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation
must begin by subduing the freeness of speech." - Benjamin Franklin

"If [a] book be false in its facts, disprove them; if false in its reasoning, refute it.
But for God's sake, let us freely hear both sides if we choose."
- Thomas Jefferson to N. G. Dufief, 1814.

Information is power and rich and powerful people don't want the common man to exercise his right to determine his fate. This collusion to deny the public accurate and complete information is most evident in television news. ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, FOX, and MSNBC are owned by Big Money. The executives and owners of these corporations will benefit financially from economic policies (both foriegn and domestic). And their interests are no our interests, they are willing to subvert democracy in order to make a buck.
