Beans Shansa Style

2 15 oz cans fava beans
3 Tbsp olive oil
1 small onion chopped
Poudre douce (2 tsp sugar, 3/8 tsp cinnamon, 3/8 tsp ginger)
3 cloves garlic (1 oz), smashed & minced

1.Drain and wash the beans well, draining thoroughly.

2.Chop onions,

3.Crush and mince garlic.

4.Simmer onions and garlic in 1/2 cup water for 3 minutes,drain.

5.Heat the frying pan with oil on a medium heat, add onions and garlic and beans (will splatter--be careful),

6.Cook, stirring frequently, 10 minutes.

7.Then add pouder douce, mix well, cook 2 more minutes, and serve.

Remember to keep stirring.
