After days of walking through forests, the two of them had finally come to a town, a big wooden gateway was at the back of the town, guarded by large amounts of archers and spearmen. It seemed to be guarding passage into a large forest. Seemed odd to Kalm, seemed like he should enter the forest! The citizens of the town seemed to be avoiding Kalm and Vasil, too, something else odd.
Kalm turned to Vasil and said, "Lets go around and talk to people, try to find out why that forest is barred," Vasil nodded and the two of the split-up.
Meanwhile, in the shadows, someone was watching them, or more correctly, watching Vasil. As soon as they split up, he came up from behind Vasil, and spoke, "Brother..."
Vasil turned to face a man who was covered in black armor, with a single bloody scar across his face, and short black hair. He said, "Sevil?"
Sevil nodded and said, "I should kill you,"
Vasil spoke, "How are you in Naturerealm, how can you travel? We were born in Earthrealm, we were raised for battle, bred for battle,"
Sevil said, "Yes, you'd like to know that, but after what you did to me, making me leave our society forever, after beating me in the challenge, you deserve nothing, Vasil, besides being killed, but it will not be by my hands, not today,"
Vasil asked, "I had no choice!"
Sevil demanded, "There are always choices! You were just too stubborn to see them, and now I will get to watch you suffer and die at the hands of the wicked masters of this world, as it should be, my dearest brother,"
Vasil asked, "What do you mean?! Why are you revealing yourself to me?!"
Sevil turned, starting to walk away and said, "To give you one last glimpse of humanity before you are sent straight to hell," then he walked away. Vasil ran after him, but he was gone.
Kalm did run up however, and said, "Hey, I figured out that forest over there is called Velnor Woods, it might be related to a message I received earlier, there's supposed to be three demons within, and some sort of magician or something, we should go, what did you find out?"
Vasil said, "Lots of things...but nothing you want to know about," then the two of them went towards the gate.
Kalm said, "We want to enter the Velnor Woods,"
The lead soldier turned towards the wood and kneeled, "Master, these creatures want to know if they can enter your forest, please give us a reply, we will sacrifice one of our soldiers as a messenger if that is what you require,"
Then a soldier screamed in agony and fell to the ground, his skin was being burnt. Once he got back up, there was a look in his eyes, you could simply tell he was under someone else's control. He spoke in a monotone voice, "They must be killed, one of them is the Hero of Velnor, you will all be sacrificed, I apologize,"
The leader said, "We all will make the sacrifice for you, our master,"
The soldier said, "You will be remembered with honor," and everyone in the town fell to the ground the same way their soldier did, bits and pieces of them being burned off, then they all got back up in perfect unison. All of them marching towards Kalm and Vasil.
Vasil said, "This is not good,"
Kalm said, "No, not good," Kalm rose his sword and slammed it at a soldier, chopping its arm off, but it quickly regrew. Kalm stared and said, "What the?!"
Vasil slammed his fists repeadly into one of them, then kicked one, sending them flying, but it just got back up, continuing marching, they were completely surrounded by citizens and soldiers. Then there was a scream from above and Sevil landed in-between them, he had a two-handed sword in each hand, it was amazing he could hold them. He started slamming his swords into the zombie-like creatures like mad, but they stomped on.
Vasil said, "Sevil, why are you doing this?"
Sevil said, "Because I only have one soul to give," then he dropped his swords, and peeled back the armor covering his chest to reveal some sort of weird glowing orb wound going through his chest. He reached into his chest, and pulled out a greenish-colored orb. Sevil said, "My soul," and he threw it at the remainder of the creatures, there was a bright blue flash, identical to the one that occured when Kaisar dissapeared, and then Sevil, and the creatures dissapeared in the flash. Kalm wondered if the two flashes were somehow connected, but he knew he had to continue into the Velnor woods, so he turned to the woods.
Vasil turned however and screamed, "Sevil, no!"
Kalm said, "Want me to go on alone?"
Vasil nodded and said, "Come back for me when your done in that forest, I need some time, he was my brother,"
Kalm entered the forest alone, he knew it was a bad idea, but Vasil needed some time to mourn the death of his brother, after all. Once he entered the forest he saw the gate behind him dissapeared. He changed his mind, a really bad idea. The trees were colored funny too, what was this place anyway, and why was he the 'Hero of Velnor'? Was he supposed to save somebody here?
