3 The Knowledge Society

The work ethic (as known before) was merely a social differentiation ethic - based on social conformity to the hegemony of capital and war/finance nexus.

Where everyone questioned their own role/position (in capitalist society) on the basis of their role in contributing to a society based on capitalist hegemony and its' requirements.

This ethic was based:

Primarily (in modern times) on industrial capitals' need to keep labor (productively/profitably) in its subordinate place.

But critically also, on the trade union concept that labor is strength (a dialectic subordinate to the hegemony of capital).

This worked effectively for as long as war/finance nexus able to expand on basis of soc differentiation.

But when automatic development (on basis of hegemony of matter over consciousness) exhausted/no longer possible - this (has) led to the epoch of the generalised rule of the most profoundly useless and destructive class in history - the lumpenbourgeoisie. With (finance) capitalist hegemony devouring the very basis of its (formerly progressive) existence - labors' para establishment/demand strength.

Causing everything built up by war/finance nexus to be destroyed by the continuance of its hegemony/dialcetic - eg the waste of capital via speculation causes the speculative system to collapse in on itself/ descend into warlordism. As seen no longer possible to develop on basis of social differentiation (as no state strong enough to lead the ge reconfiguration/reform of military plutocracy).

ONLY possible to develop pol/econ now, on basis of SOCIAL accummalation based on socialist hegemony. Accumalation of finance for its' own sake must be displaced by accummalation of KNOWLEDGE for its' own sake (as the only effective/legitimate basis for economic/societal development).

Socialist hegemony requires increasing importance of the social wage OVER the private wage. With a corresponding shortening of hours (reduction to an absolute minimum of neccessary compulsory work - social wages as hegemonic) increasingly (as CONCEPTUAL labor/thinkers) we ALL (ever increasingly) MAKE OUR OWN WORK (with a merging of work, education & leisure). Made possible by the sharing of social wages & benefits of info technology.

This is the only way to make the maximum of human productive potential - ALL being increasingly freed up to become CONCEPTUAL/KNOWLEDGE workers. - EVERYONE A SUPERMAN. (refer back to Chapter 1 on `Valhalla on Earth')

It is neccessary also for everyone to have free time for knowledge accummalation (the only thing/factor that should be acquired for its own sake) to prevent/halt the development of the `Frankenstein Society'.

That is development must be monitored/managed by a pro-active civil society - as opposed to, as at present, unaccountable finance determining development - on the basis of the short termist interests of individual corps, without regard to the wider social, economic and environmental consequances.

Concommitantly to the new economics must be the disolution of all arbitrary authority (at all levels of society) - as a block on the mind/opportunity. (The freeing of the human mind/opportunity by) Disolution of arbitrary authority will be cirtical for development.

What is the role & consequance of arbitrary authority?

(Previously) To stabilise the regime (and its devlopment) on the basis of social differentiation.

This leads to petit warlordism. As the regime/law does NOTgaurentee the security of all (including the weakest in society) all (to a varying degree) must take care of their own security (the pathological fear of appearing weak leads to petit warlordism). All (in every layer of society) scramble to be at the top of the dung heap, or leastways, not at the bottom (violence not knowledge thence is the prevailing social currency), especially in enforced social situations.

Hence arbitrary authority from above (to stabilise the regime) and petit warlordism from below (and all layers), undermine social & economic devlopment.

BUT WITH THE COLLAPSE OF INSITUTIONALISED CIVIL RIGHTS (WITH THE POL/ECON DISOLUTION OF THE PARA ESTABLISHMENT) AND The Consequant Breakdown of lower/middle arbitrary authority (with collapse of institutionalised civil rights - as no institutionalised USE for them), a police raj emerges (by default - as there is no use for civil rights within the regimes' institutional framework, they are consequantly no longer defended within the regimes' institutional framework/hegemony) - until, here there & everywhere, the police are ultimately seen as the principle/polycaesarist threat .

SO(aforementioned collapse/ descent into warlordism aside) Commercialism (in its present unrestrained form - or commodity fetishism), creates a generalised barbarising `dog eat dog' dialectic. Undermining some forms of arbitrary authority, whilst requiring significant re-inforcement by others - eg police.

The arbitrary authority of commodity fetishism (& consequant petit warlordism) impacts even on kids. Eg petit warlordism in the playground/& against parents. Even at one and the same time as parents/kids arbitrary authority.

Vis both tendancies, violence is the social currency. Perhaps mixed in with other more wholesome currents - which (unlike the negative) however, are scarcely (if at all) re-inforced by wider pol/econ society.

This means that the hardest thing of all is to be a good effective parent in such a regime - with almost no points of support. Whilst utterly fraudulent `family values' are peddled mindlessly/opportunistically.

(As we can see) The problem can only be addressed by dismantling the pol/econ re-inforcements of this situation.

This is now possible - with the collapse of the war/finance skein (basis of/propping up arbitrary authority on basis of social differentiation) of devlopment.

Socialist hegemony is imperative (with its social concommitant, the disolution of all arbitrary authority) for economic development/progress.

And it is imperative that all social pol/econ policy (will hence) be aimed at gaurenteeing the security of all (including/especially the weakest) enabling knowledge/thinking to displace violence as the prevailing social currency.

These factors are concommitant, to a general orientation of social/pol/econ policy geared to social wages and (therefore) knowledge accummalation. Neccessary both as an economic imperative (to gaurentee) maximum econ productivity - via the kowledge economy (a `muscular socialism' based on the maximum utility -vis knowledge - for every unit expended, for every citizen - as opposed to the present flabby, fetishistic mode of commodity accummalation for its own sake) and a social imperative, to gaurentee everyone's (individuals') security as the natural social concommitant to this economic policy.

In a word, HOPE, grounded in military institutional pol/econ gaurentees that tommorow will be better than today and the day after better still.
