Karen said, "Rey, Daethir's forces are on their way,"
Rey said, "I know,"
Kalm shouted, "You know and you have done nothing?!"
Rey said, "No, Deau'rit has gone, along with a mysterious wanderer we hired to attack them, Darvein, show Kalm the sword,"
Darvein nodded and said, "Come this way," and led Kalm down a passageway. At the end they were at a small altar where a sword was supposed to be held. Darvein recited, "Spirits of energy, come!" then there were multicolored flashes of light that appeared on the altar, and a glowing sword appeared on the altar. It it had a purple hilt and a bright orange blade. Darvein said, "It is Jusanime, the Blade of Energy, it is yours, there are other weapons of pure energy out there, said to be able to amplify energy sent out by the shards, and focus them," Darvein picked up the blade and handed it to Kalm.
Kalm said, "If its so important, why give it to me?"
Darvein replied, "We have guarded the Shrine of Fline for ages, it holds many ancient weapons, this altar can recreate the weapons, each of us as resistance members possess some of the weapons, mine is the Illusionaire, Blade of Illusions, now come back to the main chamber, there is not much time," and Darvein led Kalm back to the main chamber as Kalm sheathed his blade.
Rey said, "Kalm, as the newest member to our resistance, it is least likely they will suspect you hold the greatest treasure our resistance has, therefore you will hold the key, and if our invasion is to fall, there is a magical gateway in underground tunnels beneath our resistance, you must head through it, at all costs,"
Kalm nodded and Rey handed him the key, it was a small statue, capped with a purple six-pointed star, the had a ruby in the middle. It was secured by a chain, like a necklace. He wore it like a necklace, and it dissapeared, becoming invisible. Kalm said, "I'll protect the key,"
Rey said, "When you remove it from your neck, it will become visible again, as you approach the gateways, they will open," then there was shouting heard in the distance. Rey said, "They come, Darvein and the rest, go with him, I will remain,"
Kalm and Darvein protested, but Rey insisted, and eventually they all left. Kalm watched around the corner, after the others had all went down the tunnels beneath after him. Marmazak was leading the invasion, with thousands of soldiers and living flames.
Marmazak said, "Rey, must kill!"
Rey, "Marmazak, Minion of Earth?"
Marmazak said, "Yes, yes!"
Rey said, "If it pleases you...Holy Circle!" then a blinding white light surrounding Marmazak for a moment, and he was immobolized, just sitting there. Kalm turned away for a moment while Rey cast his spell. Then Rey shouted, "Energy Summon!" and white pillars rose up all around him, making duplicates of himself. The many soldiers began stomping towards Rey. Rey said, "Be at peace...White Lightning!" and arcs of lightning came down from each of the copies, colored white. They scorched all of the human soldiers. But the flames remained. They all jumped on Rey, burning him, and reducing him to ashes.
Kalm was burning with anger, but Karen had come back out of the tunnels, and forced him to come down the tunnels with everyone else. The entire group ran through a long series of sewers. He could see a glowing blue light in the distance, he knew it was the gate. Somehow he knew it wasnt over yet. It couldnt be this easy after everything he had been through.
