My wild friends

" Look, sheep!"

This is a Black and White Ruffed LEMUR.
A Lemur is a mammal that lives of the coast of Africa on an island called Madagascar.
Here are some more lemurs.

Another Black and White Ruffed.

This is a Sifaka

This cutie is a Crowned Lemur.

This is a mother Sifaka holding her baby, you can't really see the baby, but he's in the middle near the bottom.
At one time, there were fifty species of Lemurs, but now there are only 35. They only live on the island of Madagascar and only around the coast. Lemurs are in fact ENDANGERED! These cute animals could all die out and there would never come back again. Duke University Primate center holds some species of Lemurs to study. They have released some species back to Madagascar after a certain amount of training to get them used to the wild so they don't die. The primate center hopes to make a comeback for the lemurs. You can find more information at www.duke.edu/we/primate/index.html . Click on the address if you wish to go to the Duke primate center web site.

Remember, these animals could all die out, and never return.
Here are other animals.

These Bald Eagles were hurt and live in a mountain animal zoo on Grand Father mountain.
A couple of feral ferrets.
Look , horses!
