Petition on Beltway Widening To obtain sound decisions toward congestion mitigation in the Capital Beltway corridor and the best use of limited funding, the individuals below hereby strongly urge the Virginia Department of Transportation to: 1. Expand its Environmental Study Process to a full EIS process so as to ensure a more complete analysis of options and to expand opportunities for citizen involvement in decision-making; and 2. Include options for Metrorail or light rail with a feeder bus system providing an integrated multimodal transportation system in the beltway corridor.
