Shanakie
This sadly defunct band consisted of John Mills, Simon Braxton, Kerry Wood, Garth Dawson, Nick McGowan. They originated in Wellington where, in 1995, they recorded the cassette 'Can't Talk, Coming Down'.

Once John and Nick left, the remaining members formed 'Whisky Mice' which is still active. They can sometimes be persuaded to do one of the old 'Shanakie'-era tracks. John now has his own band called 'Johnny and the Millstones'. Nick joined 'Banshee Reel' for a while.
