Chapter 16, April 20th, 1999

•I've been waiting for you, Hero of Time... When evil rules all, an awakening voice from the Sacred Realm will call those destined to be Sages who dwell in the five temples.
•One in a deep forest,
•One on a high mountain,
•One under a vast lake,
•One within the house of the dead,
•One inside a goddess of the sand...
•Together, with the Hero of Time, the awakened ones will bind the evil and return the light of peace to the world...
•This is the legend of the temples passed down by my people, the Sheikah.
•I am Sheik, Survivor of the Sheikahs...
•As I see you standing there holding the mythical Master Sword, you really do look like the legendary Hero of Time...
• If you believe the legend, you have no choice. You must look for the five temples and awaken the five Sages....
•One Sage is waiting for the time of awakening in the Forest Temple. The Sage is a girl I am sure you know...
•Because of the evil power in the temple, she cannot hear the awakening call from the Sacred Realm...
•Unfortunately, equipped as you are, you cannot even enter the temple...
•But, if you believe what I'm saying, you should head to Kakariko Villiage...
•Do you understand, Nez?

  Yes, of course I understand.

These are the first words that are said when you first meet Sheik. Very fitting since after searching a bit on the web, I found some things that I did get and miss in the game. So, this is just my "report card" without any cheats, the first time around.

  • Golden Skulltullas: 62 (of 100)
  • Mask Trading: Mask of Truth (highest level)
  • BigGoron Sword: Broken Sword (no where near done)
  • Great Faries Found: 6 (of 6)
  • Great Big Poes Caught: 0
  • Ocarina Song Learned: 13 (of 13)
  • Heart Containers: 16.25
  • Magic Bean locations: 9 (of 10)
  • Arrows: Missed the Ice Arrow (got 2/3)
  • I got Epona (the horse)!
  • Bottles: 3 (of four)
  • Found many places where ocarina songs have powers.

Perhaps my biggest question in this game is, WHAT IS A RUMBLE PACK?!?!?!

  Noted troubles and difficulties are:

The dungeon under the well... the problem was GETTING into it.. It took me... about 40 mintues to figure out what was it that you were supposed to do.

Ganondorf. The main boss... took me about 20 minutes to figure out how to beat him too. And Ganon? About 1/2 hour.

The Forest Temple, BY FAR the hardest one! How was anyone supposed to have expect those things? The map seemed very simple, but it was actually very tricky to follow. This Temple took me more than 2 hours to complete.

The most original temple was the Water Temple. This one wasn't all too difficult, however, it took much more strategy. There might be an easier way to do things, but I changed my boots about a billion times during the level.

I really liked the transition between times, childhood and adulthood. Not the most original concept, but the way it was done was very nice. The uses of transitions, legends, destiny, etc, was what I was most impressed with.

Beyond all that I really liked the different races in the game. Starting with the Kokiri, Hylian, Gerudo, Zoras, and Gorons. Other than the Gerudo, things were in peace.
