Chapter 10, Mar. 22nd, 1999

Although this is a bit late, it was meant to be the St. Patrick's Day edition.

Now, when we think of St. Patrick's Day, what do we think of? Leprechauns, four-leaf clovers, pots of gold at the end of rainbows, green colors, beer, music, dancing, but most of all the LUCK of the Irish, is mostly connotated with it.

For anyone that knows me well enough, I have been known to have uncanny good luck, so luck is an important part of my life. Without my superior luck, my life would be much different than what it is now. No, I have never won the lottery, or any HUGE-HUGE, but I have had some major breaks in my life that is just unheard of for the most part.

Now, what is luck? More specifically, good luck. I'm not going to bother looking it up in a dictionary, but I would say that most would agree it is good fortune that is beyond the person's control. Or to aid the person which was not consciously controlled by the person.

I am personally proud of my luck, so why is it that people are offended when others say that it is "luck" that helped them out? For example, if one did something good, and someone said to you, "Luck, all just luck," the usual response is "No, it was skill!" Beats me, but I have no qualms about crediting my luck for the good job well done. The way I figure it is, my luck or not, it is still my achievement.

Why the offense? Is it any lower that it was your luck that was aided you in your achievement? It is still your luck, hence, your progress, so whatever means it was to earn it, it is still your accomplishment. Let them think what they want to think, regardless, the medal is around your neck, the trophy is in your case, the plaque is on your wall... well, you get the point here.

Oh well, just a short chapter this time.... I'm tired right now.... and the bed looks so inviting.....
