Heaven on the earth : Gosain kund,
where the Lord Shiva had took the rest just swallowing poison "Kalkut" to supressed its burning afect.
According to ancient story, Kalkut is an extremely harmful biological weapon at the time.
The lord did it to save the other people's life on the earth.
Due to the affect of the poison, his throat became blue,
then people also called him "NIlkantha". The water of this lake is very cold. snow
sketing over the lake in the winter season may be very nice, but it is restricted being a holy place.
This lake is situated at the height of 1405 meters from msl. Near this lake there are many other lakes also.
Surya kunda (1546 m), Saraswati kunda, Ganesh kunda, Dudh kundas, Rakta kundas, Bhairab kunda, Nag kund are very attractive.
Water from Surya kunda drains to Sunkoshi river, whereas waterfrom other kundas drain to Trishuli river.
We can reach there in a day from Dhunche, headquarter of Rasuwa district. But it is better to stay
one or two days enroute at Chandanbari and/or Laurobinakolekh from low altitude people.
We can enjoy a lot of Himalayan view (Lamtang Himal) from the route. I have been there once in 1993.
When I have been above the Chandanbari, I felt then, now I am in the real heaven on the earth!
