The Welsh thought it was to the North of their land, and then in the west peninsular of Pembrokeshire. It later moved to an island in the Irish channel off of the Pembrokeshire coast. It would “surface” at dusk, to only disappear at twilight. The faerie inhabitants are said to be frequent visitors to the markets of Laugharne and Milford Haven.
For the Irish, “faeryland” was to the west of them, and they called it “Hy Breasail.”
The Britons referred to “faeryland” as the “Isle of Man.” This island is thought to have been created by Finn MacCool, the Giant-God of Ireland, who scooped out Lough (Lake) Neagh in northern Ireland and hurled the land into the Irish Sea.
“Faeryland” is known by many names, including the astral plane, the inner plane, the ethereal world, heaven and hell, a ghost dwelling, the Land of the Dead, and alternate universe, and a parallel universe.
