In most parts of the world, faeries are classified by the elements. Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. However, when looked at more closely, countries also have classified the faery by other means. However, there is no strict order that the fae belong in.

Earth - brownies, gnomes, kobolds
Water - lamias, nixies, undiness
Fire - daemons, firedrakes, salamanders
Air - peries, slyphs, all winged fae

Eastern
Golden deva - facilitates the transmission of solar energy or �prana�
White deva/slyph - governs air
Green deva/nature spirit - is in close communion with the growth of plants
Violet deva - creates and maintains the etheric structure of all things
