The whale struggled to escape, leaving a trail of blood in the water, then died. Makah butcher gray whale NEAH BAY, May 18 � Members of the Makah tribe on Tuesday continued butchering the gray whale hunted and killed off the Neah Bay coast, the first such kill in 70 years.
